This memo describes two closely related features for the core specification of the Two-Way Active Measurement Protocol (TWAMP): an optional capability where the responding host returns some of the command octets or padding octets to the sender, and an optional sender packet format that ensures equal test packet sizes are used in both directions.

Photodetachment in an ultrastrong laser field in two spatial dimensions is investigated ab initio. A qualitative behavior of the packet for a short-range binding potential is contrasted with that for a soft-core potential, in particular dynamical effects due to a rescattering of fragments separated from the main packet are demonstrated.

Denial-of-service (DoS) attacks are a serious problem affecting the Internet today with security firms estimating over 5000 attacks are launched per day, leading to revenue loss and tarnished reputations for online businesses. These attacks remain prevalent and successful because the Internet has no mechanism to distinguish wanted from unwanted packets. The core of the Internet impartially forw...

| We propose and develop a novel virtual time reference system as a unifying scheduling framework to provide scalable support for guaranteed services. This virtual time reference system is designed as a conceptual framework upon which guaranteed services can be implemented in a scalable manner using the DiiServ paradigm. The key construct in the proposed virtual time reference system is the not...

Corelite is a Quality of Service architecture that provides weighted max-min fairness for rate among flows in a network without maintaining any per-flow state in the core routers. There are three key mechanisms that work in concert to achieve the service model of Corelite: (a) the introduction of markers in a packet flow by the edge routers to reflect the normalized rate of the flow, (b) weight...

We present an integrated network resource and QoS management framework based on the idea of decoupling the network control plane from the data plane. Our framework is capable of providing perflow QoS guarantees using scalable core-stateless packet forwarding mechanism at the network core. Virtual Time Reference System provides the abstraction of the data plane. Bandwidth broker performs all con...

Probabilistic Packet Marking (PPM) is a scheme for IP traceback where each packet is marked randomly with an IP address of one router on the attack path in order for the victim to trace the source of attacks. In previous work, a network coding approach to PPM (PPM+NC) where each packet is marked with a random linear combination of router IP addresses was introduced to reduce number of packets r...

in this paper we study necessary and sufficient conditions for some types of linear combinations of wave packet frames to be a frame for l^2(r^d). further, we illustrate our results with some examples and applications.
