A functional fluorescent neurokinin NK2 receptor was constructed by joining enhanced green fluorescent protein to the amino-terminal end of the rat NK2 receptor and was expressed in human embryonic kidney cells. On cell suspensions, the binding of fluorescent Bodipy-labeled neurokinin A results in a saturatable and reversible decrease of NK2 receptor fluorescence via fluorescence resonance ener...

A simple Schiff-base receptor 2 was prepared. It exhibits an “off-on-type” mode with high sensitivity in the presence of Al3+. The receptor 2 exhibited a high association constant with submicromolar detection for Al3+ in EtOH–H2O (95:5 v/v) solution. The addition of EDTA quenches the fluorescence of the receptor 2·Al3+ complex offering receptor 2 as a reversible chemosensor.

Our previous studies have established that angiotensin (Ang) II stimulates the release, uptake, and synthesis of norepinephrine (NE) in brain neurons involving distinct signal transduction pathways. However, little is known if this NE neuromodulatory effect is a result of Ang II activation of vesicular trafficking in the catecholaminergic neurons. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine if...

Amphiphilic glycan-functionalized oligomers are derived by solid-phase polymer synthesis and applied in both, self-assembled micelles as well giant unilamellar vesicles, simplified models of the cell's glycocalyx. Additionally, an aggregation-induced luminophore is introduced into amphiphilic glycomacromolecules showing no fluorescence when molecule free solution. Combining carrying a binding g...

1. The inflow of Mn2+ across the plasma membranes of isolated hepatocytes was monitored by measuring the quenching of the fluorescence of intracellular quin2, by atomic absorption spectroscopy and by the uptake of 54Mn2+. The inflow of other divalent metal ions was measured using quin2. 2. Under ionic conditions which resembled those present in the cytoplasmic space, Mn2+, Zn2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and ...

Enzyme-based fluorescence biosensors and their applications in environmental protection, medicine, and industry are described. Biosensors used in environmental protection measure toxicity effects. A chemical compound or group of compounds is detected by the recognition of molecules in the receptor layer and then by detecting a signal passing through the transducer layer. Biosensors are classifi...

conclusions this study on a limited number of patients treated with adjutant anthracyclins-based regimens, revealed that her2/neu is not a unique strong predictor for outcome, thus according to combination of her2/neu status and other clinical factors, it is necessary to distinguish patients at high risk of recurrence. results her2/neu amplification was identified in 19 (38%) of 50 patients. no...
