results genotype frequencies of g/a in fertile and infertile men were significantly different (χ2 = 4.16, df = 1, p = 0.041). genotype frequencies of g/g and a/ain fertile and infertile men were not significantly different (χ2 = 3.32, df = 1, p = 0.068 and χ2 = 0.521, df = 1, p = 0.47, respectively). the risk of infertility was 1.43 folds higher in individuals with the a/a genotype compared to ...

Astrovirus (AstV) infections are among the most common causes of gastroenteritis and are also associated with extraintestinal manifestations in humans and many animals. Herein, for the first time, the complete genome sequence of newly identified porcine astrovirus genotype 3 (PAstV3) strain US-MO123 was determined. Sequence comparison and phylogenetic analysis showed that PAstV3 has the closest...

Subtyping was conducted in late 2007 on 57 Cryptosporidium specimens from sporadic cases in Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, and Iowa. One previously rare Cryptosporidium hominis subtype was identified in 40 cases (70%) from all four states, and the Cryptosporidium horse genotype was identified in a pet shop employee with severe clinical symptoms.

Taking resource allocation into account, flexible job shop problem (FJSP) is a class of complex scheduling problem in manufacturing system. In order to utilize the machine resources rationally, multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) integrating with variable neighborhood search is introduced to address FJSP efficiently. Firstly, the assignment rules (AL) and dispatching rules (DR) ...

Mutation scanning techniques are used to detect sequence variants without the need for prior knowledge of the identity or precise location of the variant, in contrast with genotyping techniques, which determine the status of a specific variant. High-resolution melting is a recently developed method that shows great potential as a mutation scanning technique. Sensitivity and specificity for muta...

A method for detection and genotyping of genital Chlamydia trachomatis infections based on omp1 gene amplification and sequencing was developed. DNA was extracted from urogenital or urine samples using a Chelex-based method, and an approximately 1,100-bp-long fragment from the omp1 gene was directly amplified and sequenced. Genotyping was performed by BLAST similarity search, and phylogenetic t...

Much functional genomic research has focused on genotypic data from large cohorts or entire populations (1 ). The large populationbased serum biobanks collected for maternal (pregnancy) screening and stored in many countries could be useful for genetic epidemiologic studies if DNA extracted from archival serum and plasma is of sufficient quantity and quality for successful genotyping analyses (...

To improve beef quality, a selection of specific breeds for crossbreeding, genotyping, and candidate genes in breeding animals can be some the solutions. The objective this study was to determine effects FASN, SCD, GH on carcass fatness fatty acid (FA) composition intramuscular lipids crossbred Holstein × (Simmental, Belgian Blue, Limousin, Piemontese). allelic genotypic distribution polymorphi...

The DMA (DM ? chain) gene, a member of non-classical MHC class II plays an important role in the process presenting antigen peptides by producing DM protein. This study aimed to identify polymorphism gene and their associations with disease resistance traits such as total IgY concentration ND antibody titers IPB-D2 chicken line. sample used was 101 chickens consisted 81 G0 (53 female 28 male) 2...

Background: Organophosphorus pesticides has been widely used in agriculture fields to control various crop insects and their extensive use pose human life at threat because of their adverse effects on human health. In this study, we checked the effects of GST polymorphism on ameliorative effect of curcumin and carvacrol against DNA damages. Methods: Comet assay was used to assess the DNA dam...
