Ceftriaxone penetrates into the aqueous humour in man. The interaction of indomethacin on the disposition of ceftriaxone appeared to be time-dependent. Indomethacin delayed ceftriaxone penetration into, but enhanced its persistence in, the aqueous humour, permitting a period of antibioprophylaxis covering the required time for surgical treatment.
An immunological study of aqueous humour and serum was carried out in experimental ocular candidosis in rabbits. Anti-candida antibody titres, immunoglobulin G, and albumin levels were evaluated in the aqueous humour and in the serum. A local synthesis of anti-candida antibodies was detected in numerous rabbits at the height of clinical activity of the lesions.

This paper investigates the problem of automatic humour recognition, and provides and in-depth analysis of two of the most frequently observed features of humorous text: human-centeredness and negative polarity. Through experiments performed on two collections of humorous texts, we show that these properties of verbal humour are consistent across different data sets.
THIS study deals with the problem of the regulation of the intra-ocular pressure and the influence of pressure on the formation and the resistance to outflow of the aqueous humour. The main experimental approach has been to analyse the relationship between the steady state intra-ocular pressure and varied rates of flow of fluid through the anterior chamber of living and dead eyes. In the experi...
While many scholars have examined the subject of misogyny in Old French fabliaux in a number of contexts, no consensus has yet been reached on how the fabliaux can be considered humorous in the light of the stereotypes found therein. By conducting a close contextualised study of three fabliaux, this paper asserts that the humour of the fabliaux is created out of misogynous stereotypes by invest...

In this paper, we discuss a model of simple question–answer punning, implemented in a program, JAE-1, which generates riddles from humour–independent lexical entries. The model uses two main types of structure: schemata, which determine the relationships between key words in a joke, and templates, which produce the surface form of the joke. JAPE-1 succeeds in generating pieces of text that are ...
The relevance of the concept ‘Intolerance of Ambiguity’ within the field of humour has been investigated. It is predicted that intolerant people prefer jokes whose incongruity is solvable whilst rejecting the non-solvable nonsense jokes. Subjects were 134 male students who were asked to complete questionnaires and to rate 120 jokes according to the criteria ‘Funniness’ and ‘Rejection’. Both hyp...
