Mathematically, bifurcation theory attempts to investigate the changes in the qualitative or topological structure of a studied equation models. Given paper focuses on an analytical investigation of the nonlinear behavior of an indirect filedoriented control of induction motor. In this context, steady-state responses of the motor model are discussed and an analytical study of the generic codime...
Analysis of saddle-node and Hopf bifurcations in IFOC drives due to errors in the estimate of the rotor time constant is presented. Experimental results showing such bifurcations are given and guidelines for drive commissioning are derived from these results.
Field orientation control (FOC) of induction machines has permitted fast transient response b y decoupled torque and f lux control. However, f ie ld oraentation detuning caused by parameter variations is a major dificulty for indirect FOC methods. Traditional P ID controlkrs have trouble meeting a wade ranye of tracking performance even when proper field orientation i s achieved. P I D performa...
Global asymptotic stability of indirect field-oriented speed control of current-fed induction motors
In this short paper, we show that the indirect field-oriented controller for currentfed induction motors guarantees the global asymptotic stability of speed tracking error for time-varying speed and rotor flux references. The load torque is assumed to be constant but is unknown.
Abstract Field‐oriented control (FOC) has been broadly used as an accurate method for electric drives. The traditional FOC approach effectively developed to 3‐phase induction motor (3φ IM) drive systems in recent decades. Despite the usefulness of methods during normal condition, these strategies are unable a wye‐connected 3φ IM y ) under stator winding open circuit fault (SWOCF). This paper di...
This chapter develops a sliding mode and fuzzy logic-based speed controller, which is named adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode controller (AFSMC) for an indirect fieldoriented control (IFOC) of an induction motor (IM) drive. Essentially, the boundary layer approach is the most popular method to reduce the chattering phenomena, which leads to trade-off between control performances, and chattering elimi...
