A 5-pole lumped element bandpass filter (BPF) of center frequency 264.05 MHz and fractional bandwidth (FBW) 0.76% is designed and fabricated using YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-d (YBCO) thin films deposited on both sides of a MgO substrate(40 mm × 40 mm × 0.5 mm). The return loss, minimum insertion loss and ripple were measured to be 20.0 dB, less than 0.1 dB and less than 0.1 dB at 70 K, respectively. These ...

An impedance-transforming lumped-element (LE) two-branch 90 coupler is discussed in this paper. The LE coupler discussed here can be derived from a branch-line coupler consisting of one-quarter or three-quarters wavelength transmission-lines (that is, case of type C) and classified into five groups. Normally, the LE coupler needs 8 circuit elements. However, the existence of reduced LE couplers...

Computer models of the musculoskeletal system frequently represent the force-length behavior of muscle with a lumped-parameter model. Lumped-parameter models use simple geometric shapes to characterize the arrangement of muscle fibers and tendon; this may inaccurately represent changes in fiber length and the resulting force-length behavior, especially for muscles with complex architecture. The...

Modern RFICs have achieved an impressively high integration level, making crosscoupling effects among different sections of the circuit a potential limit to their functionality. Integrated spiral inductors occupy a significant chip area and are a potential source of EM interference. This paper investigates the coupling effects between two planar spiral inductors. A physical model for the single...

background and objective: cerebral arteriovenous malformation (cavm) hemodynamic is disease condition, results changes in the flow and pressure level in cerebral blood vessels. measuring flow and pressure without catheter intervention along the vessel is big challenge due to vessel bifurcations/complex bifurcations in arteriovenous malformation patients. the vessel geometry in cavm patients are...

Different combinations of the artero-ventricular coupling design (numerical, physical and hybrid) and the arterial system structure (four-element standard, simplified, modified and three-element three-lump "ladder" Windkessel) have been applied in an open loop circulatory model to test their influence on selected ventricular and circulatory variables. Numerical investigations have shown that a ...

This paper describes a new generation of cage-type ac/dc current shunts from 30 mA up to 10 A developed using a lumped circuit element model. Comparison of the calculated and measured values shows agreement better than 6 Ω/Ω in the ac-dc difference at frequencies up to 100 kHz.

For a lumped parameter model of a flow network driven by a periodic generator, we apply averaging to find an approximate solution and analyze its stability. The approximate solution has three parts: mean flow due to the resistive effects of branches, a time-periodic part due to “inductive” effects, and a mean flow average correction due to the interaction of nonlinear and time varying effects. ...

In this paper, the direct adaptive neural controller is investigated for the longitudinal dynamics of a generic hypersonic flight vehicle (HFV). The objective of the controller is to make the altitude and velocity to follow a given desired trajectory in the presence of aerodynamic uncertainties. Based on the functional decomposition, the adaptive discrete-time nonlinear controllers are develope...
