Spermatogenesis is sustained by the proliferation and differentiation of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). SSCs are derived from primordial germ cells (PGCs) during embryonic development. The signal from the mammalian embryonic tissue is critical to the localization of PGCs and various factors and signaling pathways are involved into the regulation of these process. However, the molecules contr...

Background: Cyclophosphamide as an alkalizing and cytotoxic agent contributes in treatment of different kinds of cancer. It can pass the blood-brain barrier. Linking two strains of DNA in cell nucleus and breaking the inner and outer strain linkages and inhibiting RNA synthesis and as a consequence, inhibiting protein synthesis, cyclophosphamide demonstrates severe pharmacological side effects ...

Abstract Study question Does IGF2BP3 regulate Tcf4 mRNA stability in an N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-dependent manner, affect spermatogenesis, and lead to idiopathic non-obstructive azoospermia (iNOA)? Summary answer induces apoptosis of spermatogenic cells by regulating the m6A-dependent which turn affects spermatogenesis leading iNOA. What is known already Azoospermia most serious phenotype male ...

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is mainly used to treat medication resistant major depressive disorder (MDD) patients, with a remission rate of up to 90%. However, little is known about the serum molecular changes induced by this treatment. Understanding the mechanisms of action of ECT at the molecular level could lead to identification of response markers and potential new drug targets for mor...

The effect of 3 months exposure to short day length (L:D, 9:15) on spermatogenesis in R. cyanophlyctis was studied. There was no difference in the qualitative and quantitative aspect of spermatogenesis between control frogs exposed to ambient photoperiod (L:D, 12.16:11.44) and frogs exposed to short day light. The present findings indicate that light has no role in spermatogenesis in the frog.

Human infertility affects 10–15% of couples, half of which is attributed to the male partner. Abnormal spermatogenesis is a major cause of male infertility. Characterizing the genes involved in spermatogenesis is fundamental to understand the mechanisms underlying this biological process and in developing treatments for male infertility. Although many genes have been implicated in spermatogenes...

background: the global prevalence of diabetes mellitus is on rise. diabetes-induced oxidative stress has been known to affect liver, pancreas, kidney and reproductive organs pathologically. honey is a natural product of bee with antioxidant properties. objective: current study aimed to analyze the protective effects of metformin (mf) alone and mf+ natural honey co-administration on diabetes-ind...

Throughout spermatogenesis multiplication, maturation and differentiation of germ cells results in the formation of the male gamete. The understanding of spermatogenesis needs detailed informations about the organization of the germinal epithelium, the structure and function of different types of germ cells, endocrine and paracrine cells and mechanisms, intratesticular and extratesticular regul...

Epigenetic modifications change gene expression in such a way that gene action is affected without change in DNA sequence. Several genes playing crucial roles in spermatogenesis are known to be epigenetically regulated. Epigenetic modifications affect spermatogenesis, and aberrant epigenetic modifications at certain loci are linked to male infertility. Epigenetic modifications could be the mech...
