Background: Recent studies show cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors have the tendency to intermingle. Integration between some biological and homodynamic risk factors have made the new hypothesis for etiology of CVDs. The aim of this study was to determine the clustering pattern of metabolic variables and left ventricular (LV) mass among smoker and non-smoker individuals and the interrela...

association of southeast asia nations (asean) was created in 1967 in order to prevent the threat of communism in southeast asia. but, over time, new states joined it and goals and activities of this organization expanded to other areas such as economic, commercial, political and cultural ones. thus, over time, cooperation between members expanded in a way today this regional organization is con...

abstract while computerized maintenance management system (cmms) enables maintenance managers and supervisors to access information about equipment, manpower and maintenance policies, there is still a need to facilitate getting data/information into the backend database where it can be utilized by the organization as information to make decisions regarding the operation of the organization. sig...

BACKGROUND Obesity in adults is associated with increased left ventricular (LV) mass. The mechanism for this is unclear, however. We tested the hypothesis that insulin resistance is an important independent contributing factor to LV mass in the healthy obese population. METHODS AND RESULTS The study population consisted of 40 normotensive, nondiabetic, otherwise healthy obese subjects with bo...

Light-cone quantization always involves the solution of differential constraint equations. The solutions to these equations include integration constants (fields independent of x−). These fields are unphysical but when they are consistently removed from the dynamics, additional operators (induced operators), which would not be present if the integration constants were simply set to zero, are in...

Process integration aims at optimizing industrial processes by identifying the heat recovery potential and the optimal integration of energy conversion systems. Most industrial processes especially in the food industry are non-continuous problems (batch problems) that are more difficult to tackle with process integration techniques. Process integration of multi-period problems can become comple...

We discuss a number of two loop (vertex) integrals relevant for πK scattering at threshold. As such these are functions of two well separated mass scales, Mπ/MK ≪ 1. The method of regions allows an expansion in this mass ratio prior to the integration. In the cases considered, the coefficients in this expansion can be evaluated with elementary methods.

We compute the two–loop virtual corrections to the flavour changing neutral current process b → dl+l−. As calculation techniques integration by parts identities and the method of differential equations are used. The result is presented in closed form as a function of q/mb , where q 2 is the invariant mass of the lepton pair and mb is the b–quark mass.
