The Chinese nation has a long cultural history and deep attainments in food, clothing, art, other fields. With the development of science, technology, economy, culture, new materials continue to appear, providing ideas for clothing design. Polypyrrole is common conductive polymer. pure pyrrole monomer presents colorless oily liquid at room temperature, slightly soluble water nontoxic. Nanocryst...

Photobactericidal hairy nanocrystalline cellulose was developed as a bioinspired nanofiller for engineering self-disinfecting food packaging. A new version of nanocellulose functionalized with high density primary amine group called aminated (ANCC) synthesized. As natural photosensitizer, rose bengal (RB) then covalently linked to ANCC via an aqueous-based bioconjugation reaction, confirmed by ...

Cellulose nanocrystals are unique nanomaterials derived from the most abundant and almost inexhaustible natural polymer, cellulose. These nanomaterials have received significant interest due to their mechanical, optical, chemical, and rheological properties. Cellulose nanocrystals primarily obtained from naturally occurring cellulose fibers are biodegradable and renewable in nature and hence th...

The anticoagulant activity of surfaces decorated with cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) prepared via sulfuric acid hydrolysis, is explored. Such surfaces bear a high amount of negatively charged sulfate groups, which mimic the naturally occurring anticoagulant heparin in terms of charge density. It is demonstrated that CNC decorated surfaces significantly enhance the coagulation times of blood plas...

Cellulose nanocrystals were converted into ratiometric pH-sensing nanoparticles by dual fluorescent labelling employing a facile one-pot procedure. A simple and versatile three-step procedure was also demonstrated extending the number of fluorophores available for grafting. In this method an amine group was introduced via esterification followed by a thiol-ene click reaction.

Ternary nano-biocomposite films based on poly(lactic acid) (PLA) with modified cellulose nanocrystals (s-CNC) and synthesized silver nanoparticles (Ag) have been prepared and characterized. The functionalization of the CNC surface with an acid phosphate ester of ethoxylated nonylphenol favoured its dispersion in the PLA matrix. The positive effects of the addition of cellulose and silver on the...

A novel kind of spherical cellulose nanocrystal (SCNC) suspension was prepared by hydrolysis of microcrystalline cellulose with a mixture of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid under ultrasonic treatment. The mechanism of SCNC formation and the liquid crystalline properties of their suspensions were investigated. A suspension of spherical particles was usually inclined to form crystallization c...
