In order to improve the recognition rate, this document proposes an automatic system to recognize isolated printed Tifinagh characters by using a fusion of 3 classifiers and a combination of some features extraction methods. The Legendre moments, Zernike moments and Hu moments are used as descriptors in the features extraction phase due to their invariance to translation, rotation and scaling c...

This report presents a survey on how to group together in a static way planar nodes, that may belong to a wireless network (ad hoc or cellular). The aim is to identify appropriate methods that could also be applied for Point Processes. Specifically matching pairs and algorithms are initially discussed. Next, specifically for Point Processes, the Nearest Neighbour and Lilypond models are present...

We calculated the density of states in a Hubbard mortel with nearest and next nearest neighbour hopping. Using an exact diagonalisation technique, we examined this mortel in a wide area of parameters. The density of states was calculated for dilferent fillings and for positive and negative interaction U. The additional hopping to the next nearest neighbour sites has dilferent elfects on the gap...

The Binder cumulant at the phase transition of Ising models on square lattices with various ferromagnetic nearest and next–nearest neighbour couplings is determined using mainly Monte Carlo techniques. We discuss the possibility to relate the value of the critical cumulant in the isotropic, nearest neighbour and in the anisotropic cases to each other by means of a scale transformation in rectan...

It is now well-established that k nearest-neighbour classi"ers o!er a quick and reliable method of data classi"cation. In this paper we extend the basic de"nition of the standard k nearest-neighbour algorithm to include the ability to resolve con#icts when the highest number of nearest neighbours are found for more than one training class (model-1). We also propose model-2 of nearest-neighbour ...

For various lattice gas models with nearest neighbour exclusion (and, in one case, second-nearest neighbour exclusion as well), we obtain lower bounds on m, the average number of particles on the non-excluded lattice sites closest ∗We dedicate this work to the memory of Ann Stell, beloved friend of OP and beloved wife of GS.

This paper presents a non parametric method for classifying interactions between two people as taken from a video camera. A nearest neighbour classifier that uses trajectory matching in feature space is introduced and shown to be superior to regular nearest neighbour classification for this problem.

The atomic-scale structure of Bioglass and the effect of substituting lithium for sodium within these glasses have been investigated using neutron diffraction and solid state magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR. Applying an effective isomorphic substitution difference function to the neutron diffraction data has enabled the Na-O and Li-O nearest-neighbour correlations to be isolated from the overlap...
