introduction many features, emerging from mathematical techniques, have been used in the analysis of brain signals. in this study, the physical quantity of “moment of inertia” (moi) was introduced as a feature to enhance high-frequency waves (hfws) in electroencephalography (eeg). materials and methods in this research, the recorded eegs from f3, f4, and cz points in 20 males were used. a total...

The Nano-Devices Group at the University of Notre Dame proposed a new device that encodes information in the geometrical charge distribution of artificial (or natural) molecules. Functional units are composed by electrostatic coupling. In these units, processing takes place by reshaping the electron density of the molecules, and not by switching currents [1]. Signal processing potential of next...

* This work is supported by national sciences fund, No. 69635020 Abstract It is no doubt that our auditory system is a nonlinear processing system in speech signal perception. In this paper many aspects of nonlinear processing are discussed. First Nonlinear frequency resolution, that is nonlinear or nonuniform sampling theory in auditory system, second, nonlinear combination of different freque...

An inspection of signal processing approach in order to estimate underwater network cardinalities is conducted in this research. A matter of key prominence for underwater network is its cardinality estimation as the number of active cardinalities varies several times due to numerous natural and artificial reasons due to harsh underwater circumstances. So, a proper estimation technique is mandat...

Most of the research actlvltles in clrcults and signal processing, whether analog or dlgltal, are conflned to linear signal processing (LSP). The Interest in LSP Is due largely to Its mathematlcal tractabllity and ease of implementation, characteristics that were necessary for the technological climate of the earller decades. However, LSP Is limited In Its usefulness and the technology for Impl...

Traditional signal processing algorithms rely heavily on models that are inherently linear. Such models are attractive both for their mathematical tractability and their applicability to the rich class of signals that can be represented with Fourier methods. Nonlinear systems that support soliton solutions share many of the properties that make linear systems attractive from an engineering stan...

We review the nonlinear channel capacity of optical fiber communication systems using both linear and nonlinear amplifiers. We show that the capacity of a nonlinear transmission system employing linear optical amplifiers can be enhanced by over 300% by using all optical regeneration OCIS codes: 070.4340 Nonlinear optical signal processing, 190.4380 Four-wave mixing.
