The “crowd” has become a very important geospatial data provider. Subsumed under the term Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), non-expert users have been providing a wealth of quantitative geospatial data online. With spatial reasoning being a basic form of human cognition, narratives expressing geospatial experiences, e.g., travel blogs, would provide an even bigger source of geospatial d...

Based on the Bezout approach we propose a simple algorithm to determine gcd of two polynomials which doesn’t need division, like Euclidean algorithm, or determinant calculations, Sylvester matrix algorithm. The needs only n steps for degree n. Formal manipulations give discriminant resultant any without needing division nor calculation.

The speech enhancement techniques are often employed to improve the quality and intelligibility of the noisy speech signals. This paper discusses a novel technique for speech enhancement which is based on Singular Value Decomposition. This implementation utilizes a Genetic Algorithm based optimization method for reducing the effects of environmental noises from the singular vectors as well as t...

Geospatial science is the science and art of acquiring, archiving, manipulating, analyzing, communicating, and utilizing spatially explicit data for understanding physical, biological, and social systems on the Earth’s surface or near the surface. In order to share distributed geospatial resources and facilitate the interoperability, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), an industry-government-...

In this paper, we present an approach to ontology querying for the purpose of supporting the semantic annotation process. We present and evaluate two algorithms, (i) a baseline algorithm and (ii) a graph-based algorithm based on the bag-of-words text representation and PageRank. We evaluate the two approaches on a set of semantically annotated geospatial Web services. We show that the graph-bas...

The need for more cost-effective, accurate and efficient methods of using geospatial information has been around a long time. However, development of GIS software solutions and information technologies enabled the distribution, access and manipulation of geospatial data over the Web. In this paper is represented a new access to geospatial data and the possibility of integrating geospatial data ...

Geospatial data is vitally important to the ways thousands of government agencies, private companies and non-profit organizations do their businesses. The widespread access and sharing of geospatial data on the Internet yield many benefits. But, there are two important barriers in front of sharing and accessing geospatial data; non-interoperability and insufficient message exchange patterns of ...

The classical algorithm for multiple -precision division normalizes digits during each step and sometimes makes correction steps when the initial guess for the quotient digit turns out to be wrong. A method is presented that runs faster by skipping most of the intermediate normalization and recovers from wrong guesses without separate correction steps.

Geospatial metadata, data, and services have been widely collected, developed and deployed in recent years. This flourishing of geospatial resources also added to the problem of geospatial heterogeneity. Interoperability research and implementation are needed for advancement in potential solutions to integrate and interoperate these widely dispersed geospatial resources. We design and implement...
