Solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT), also known as Frantz tumor is an unusual form of pancreatic neoplasm. Its natural history differs from the more common pancreatic adenocarcinoma in that it has a female predilection, is more indolent, and carries a better prognosis. Metastatic disease can occur, usually involving the liver, and its management is not well defined.

Pancreaticopleural fistula is a rare clinical entity. The classical presentation is that of a left sided, amylase-rich pleural effusion [1,2] . Herein we report an unusual case of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma that presented initially with a pancreaticopleural fistula. We review and discuss the existing literature regarding pancreaticopleural fistulae that are associated with a pancreatic ne...

BACKGROUND Pancreatic tumors in pregnancy are rare but clinically challenging. Careful diagnostic workup, including appropriate imaging examinations, should be performed to evaluate surgery indications and timing . In the present case a diagnosis of an adult pancreatic hemangioma was made. We were not able to identify a similar case in the very sparse literature on this rare disease. CASE PRE...

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma may account for more than 80% of all pancreatic neoplasms. Occasionally, other rare tumors such as lymphoma, metastatic tumor, and solid pseudopapillary neoplasm can be considered in the differential diagnosis. We report the case of an 82-year-old man with a pancreatic solid mass. This case suggests that endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) w...

Accessory spleens are present in 10% of population and are formed during embryonic development. Besides the splenic hilum, the next most frequent localization of accessory spleens is the pancreatic tail. Intrapancreatic accessory spleens are usually diagnosed occasionally and make diagnostic difficulty because they imitate a pancreatic neoplasm. We present the case of a 61-year old woman with a...

Castleman's disease is a rare nonclonal proliferative disorder of the lymph nodes with an unknown etiology. Common locations of Castleman's disease are mediastinum, neck, axilla, and abdomen. Castleman's disease of a peripancreatic location masquerading as pancreatic neoplasm is an even rarer entity. On search of published data, we came across about 17 cases published on peripancreatic Castlema...

BACKGROUND Five percent of pancreatic neoplasms are non- adenocarcinoma tumors. Clinical presentation and imaging characteristics of these tumors are similar to adenocarcinoma. This study aims at evaluating the results and efficacy of Endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) in diagnosing the pancreatic non-adenocarcinoma tumor in patients with solid pancreatic mass. METH...

of > 1000 U/ml in pancreas cyst fluid is considered almost pathognomonic for a mucinous cystic neoplasm. A 32−year−old woman underwent abdominal computed tomography (CT) for evaluation of right upper quadrant pain, which revealed a 10−mm pancreatic tail cyst (l" Fig. 1a, b). The sharply demarcated cyst without septation did not communicate with the pancreatic duct. Follow−up CT, 4 months later,...
