本研究は，手指衛生が必要とされる場面において，A病院の医師にどのような認知，感情，行動傾性があるのかを明らかにすることを目的とした．5名の医師を対象に個人別態度構造（Personal Attitude Construct：PAC）分析を行い，質的記述的に分析した．手指衛生実施の判断は経験や推測が影響していた．十分な手指衛生教育と手指衛生促進に集団で取り組む体制が不足していた．他者の促し，ポスター掲示，擦式アルコール手指消毒薬の設置が手指衛生の想起に繋がっていた．医師の手指衛生を促進するには，手指衛生リマインダーの設置，医師の中でのロールモデルの育成，医師も手指衛生促進活動に参加できる体制作り，十分な手指衛生教育と医師の関心にフィットするアプローチが必要と考える．
