Reaction of 5-phenyl tetrazole with ethyl chloroacetate to form ethyl (5-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl) acetate (1). Compound 1 react with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol yield 2-(5-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide (2). The condensation of (2) with various aldehydes yield the corresponding substituted N'-[-arylidene]-2-(5-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide (3a- j). Th...

Reaction between aromatic aldehydes and 3–methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one catalyzed by nano-SiO2/HClO4 in water under reflux provided a simple and efficient route for the synthesis of 4-((5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)(aryl)methyl)-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol derivatives in high yields.

Deuel and coworkers (l-3) have recently reported that a sex difference in the urinary excretion of ketone bodies, not manifested under normal conditions, may be demonstrated in human beings by fasting, and in rats and guinea pigs by the administration of sodium or ethyl acetoacetate. In these cases the females showed a greater tendency to ketosis than the males. Emerson (4) found that greater k...

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(15)H(15)NO, the two benzene rings are twisted from each other by a dihedral angle of 47.97 (4)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, and π-π inter-actions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.8493 (5) Å are observed.

Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) may be defined as persistent, unexplained nausea and vomiting resulting in more than 5% weight loss, abnormal fluid and nutritional intake, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, and ketonuria [1]. Symptoms often extend beyond the first trimester and can last throughout the entire pregnancy in as many as one-third of cases, leading to extreme weight loss and possibly a ...

Acute pancreatitis and diabetic ketoacidosis are unusual adverse events following chemotherapy based on L-asparaginase and prednisone as support treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We present the case of a 16-year-old Hispanic male patient, in remission induction therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia on treatment with mitoxantrone, vincristine, prednisone, and L-asparaginase. He was ...

Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) is one of the two important metabolic complications of diabetes, the other being hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar non-ketotic state (HHNS). DKA consists of the triad of hyperglycaemia, ketosis and acidosis; the diagnostic criteria being blood glucose level > 250 mg/dl, arterial pH < 7.3, bicarbonate level < 15 mEq/L and a moderate degree of ketonaemia and ketonuria. There...
