Agricultural production continues to be constrained by a number of biotic and abiotic factors that can reduce crop yield quantity and quality. Potassium (K) is an essential nutrient that affects most of the biochemical and physiological processes that influence plant growth and metabolism. It also contributes to the survival of plants exposed to various biotic and abiotic stresses. The followin...

Hydraulic conductance exerts a strong influence on many aspects of plant physiology, namely: transpiration, CO2 assimilation, growth, productivity or stress response. However we lack full understanding of the contribution of root or shoot water transport capacity to the total water balance, something which is difficult to study in trees. Here we tested the hypothesis that whole plant hydraulic ...

Abstract Introduction: Today, there is a global tendency to teaching anatomy courses at the same time with clinical skills during medical education period. This project was designed to determine the effect of an integrated course of physical examination and trunk anatomy on second year medical students' knowledge of anatomy and their attitude towards this method of learning anatomy. Metho...

botany as anatomy, biochemistry, ecology, genetics, morphology, physiology, and systematics. In the future, plant conservation, with its emphasis on the preservation of rare and endangered species, will undoubtedly also have a significant impact. The most spectacular recent innovations in biotechnology involve improved technology for genetically modifying plants and producing individuals with n...

A study of the anatomy and morphology of four Tasmanian cushion plant showed that anatomical convergence was not as well developed as the obviolls morphological convergence. The of well-developed xeromorphic features in the Tasmanian species is not consistent with the hypothesis previollsly suggesrcd that the cilshion fonn evolved plimarily as a strategy to maintain a positive water balance.
