The title compound, 2[Ce(C(51)H(75)N(4)O(3))]·C(4)H(10)O, was obtained in high yield (92%) by reduction of (TRENDSAL)Ce(IV)Cl [TRENDSAL is N,N',N''-tris-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-salicyl-ide-natoamino)-triethyl-amine] with potassium in THF. The bulky tripodal TRENDSAL ligand effectively encapsulates the central Ce(III) cation with a Ce-N(imine) distance of 2.860 (2) Å and an average C-N(amine) distanc...

The reaction between benzyl amines, triethyl orthoformate, and diethyl phosphite affords either bisphosphonic (compound 1) or N-benzylaminobenzylphosphonic (compound 2) acid depending on the reaction conditions. The final output of the reaction can be manipulated by the choice of reaction conditions, particularly the molar ratio of substrates.

A new series of benzylidene-prop-2-ynyl-amines analogues have been synthesized and evaluated for their monoamine oxidase A and B inhibitory activity by determination of IC(50) and selectivity index (SI). Among these inhibitors, benzhydrylidene-prop-2-ynyl-amine (2, IC(50)=32 nM) and (3, 4-dimethoxy-benzylidene)-prop-2-ynyl-amine (10, IC(50)=14 nM) provide the highest inhibitory potency toward m...

The chemical dynamics of the reaction of ground state carbon atoms, C(3Pj), with vinyl cyanide, C2H3CN(X 1A'), were examined under single collision conditions at collision energies of 29.9 and 43.9 kJ mol(-1) using the crossed molecular beams approach. The experimental studies were combined with electronic structure calculations on the triplet C4H3N potential energy surface (H. F. Su, R. I. Kai...

Propargyl groups are attractive functional groups for labeling purposes, as they allow CuAAC-mediated bioconjugation. Their size minimally exceeds that of a methyl group, the latter being frequent in natural nucleotide modifications. To understand under which circumstances propargyl-containing oligodeoxynucleotides preserve base pairing, we focused on the exocyclic amine of cytidine. Residues a...

anaphylactic reactions can occur following the adminstration of muscle relaxants. however, it happens very rarefy wish pancuronium bromide. a case report of anaphylactic shock to pancuronium bromide, which is supported by a highly poitive skin prick test, is reported.

We present a facile microfluidic method for forming narrow chemical gradients in polymer brushes. Co-flow of an alkylating agent solution and a neat solvent in a microfluidic channel forms a diffusion-driven concentration gradient, and thus a gradient in reaction rate at the interface of the two flows, leading to a quaternization gradient in the underlying poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacryla...

Gold(III) bromide is a suitable catalyst for the stereoselective cyclization of 2-C-malonyl carbohydrates to the anomeric center under retention of one ester group. Reopening of the lactones with alcohols in the presence of TMSOTf affords allyl, propargyl and benzyl glycosides with high α-selectivity.
