A factorial experiment with forty one triticale genotypes and two wheat cultivars (‘Kavir’ bread wheat cultivar and ‘Dipper-6’ durum wheat cultivar as salt-tolerant genotypes) as the first factor and six salinity levels of 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 percent (0, 85, 170, 255, 340 and 425 mM) of NaCl as the second factor was conducted. Results indicated that the increase of salinity level has lead...
An organic radical cation salt, BBDTA·Au(CN)2, with a slipped π-stacking columnar structure and intercolumnar short contacts, shows ferromagnetic ordering at 8.2 K, the highest reported temperature among the BBDTA(+) cation salts.
Using a slow liquid-gas diffusion method, the mixed-valence viologen salt (MV)2(BF4)3 (1) and the radical cation salt (MV)(BF4) (2) are crystallized. Both structures contain regular stacks of MV˙(+) radical cations (2) or alternating MV˙(+) and MV(2+) entities (1). A short intrastack intermolecular separation (3.23 Å) unprecedently reveals strong interactions between MV(2+) and MV˙(+) in 1.
Forty-five endangered medicinal plants of Nepal are mentioned in this paper. Some recommendations for their preservation are also discussed here.
Salt stress is one of the main abiotic stresses for rice that causes negative effects on its growth and productivity. In present study, effects of salt stress on differential gene expression of some genes which are responsible in salt stress were investigated in two rice tolerant and sensitive genotypes (FL478 and IR29) by applying cDNA-AFLP technique. Among the TDFs (Transcript Derived F...
The title copper(I) salt, (C(15)H(14)N(2))[Cu(NCS)(3)], exists as non-inter-acting cations and trigonal-planar anions. The cation is buckled, the r.m.s. deviation of the atoms passing through the phenanthroline portion being 0.16 Å. The Cu(I) atom is displaced by 0.019 (2) Å out of the N(3) triangle. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with twin domains in an approximate ratio of 55:45.
The chlorine containing deposits in the power plant environment is very harmful in terms of degrading the plant component materials. The cyclic reaction starts by the chlorine gas shorten the life of the plant components. In this study, this cyclic reaction is study in detail, which is required further to find the preventive methods for slow down the degradation of the plant components, especia...
The supramolecular assembly of a novel cyanine dye, 3,3'-di(3-sulfopropyl)-4,5,4',5'-dibenzo-9-ethyl-thiacarbocyanine triethylammonium salt (ETC) was designed to verify specific intramolecular G-quadruplexes from duplex and single-strand DNAs. Spectral results have shown that ETC presented two major distinct signatures with specific intramolecular G-quadruplexes in vitro: (i) dramatic changes i...
Microorganisms control key biogeochemical pathways, thus changes in microbial diversity, community structure and activity can affect ecosystem response to environmental drivers. Understanding factors that control the proportion of active microbes in the environment and how they vary when perturbed is critical to anticipating ecosystem response to global change. Increasing supplies of anthropoge...
