Facts presented, for the first time, in a previous publication by the writer (1919-20) prove that the developing descending colon of the pig embryo possesses two zones of differential growth which by their interaction mutually influence each other during the formation period. The inner epithelial tube is the dominant, most active region of growth. I t presents numerous mitotic figures which pur...

Abstract Fluid blobs in an immiscible Newtonian fluid flowing a capillary tube with varying radius show highly nonlinear behavior. We consider here generalization of previously obtained results to non-Newtonian fluids. compute the yield pressure drop and mean flow rate two cases: (i) When single blob is injected, (ii) many are randomly injected into tube. find that effects emerge from non-unifo...

BACKGROUND The detection of multiple viruses is important for pathogenic diagnosis and disease control. Microarray detection is a good method, but requires complex procedures for multiple virus detection. METHODS We developed a novel PCR assay, the microarray-in-a-tube system, which integrates multiple PCR processes and DNA microarrays for multiple virus detection. A 5 x 5 oligonucleotide mic...

In this paper, we present experimental investigation of convective heat transfer characteristic in the inner tube fluid of miniature concentric double tube Hair-pin heat exchanger with constant heat flux. This work is carried out for distilled water and a mixture of distilled water and ethylene glycol (10%, 20% and 25% by volume) as heat transfer cold fluid flowing in inner tube to carry away h...

An original image analysis method is presented to characterize multi-walled carbon nanotubes from transmission electron microscopy images. The analysis is performed in three steps: (i) image preprocessing in order to isolate the nanotubes from the background, (ii) image segmentation, aiming at keeping only the measurable sections of nanotubes, and finally (iii) tube characteristics measurement....

Unlike nanoscrolls of 2D graphene, those of 2D h-BN have not been demonstrated, except for only a few experimental reports. Nanoscrolls of h-BN with high yields and reproducibility are first synthesized by a simple solution process. Inner-tube diameters of BNSs including LCAs, N-(2-aminoethyl)-3α-hydroxy-5β-cholan-24-amide, a bile acid derivative and self-assembling material, can be controlled ...

We calculate dimensional reduction of gravitational flux tube solutions in the scheme of Kaluza-Klein theory. The fifth dimension is compacified to a region of Planck size. Assuming the width of the tube to be also Planck size we obtain string-like object with physical fields originated from an initial 5D metric. The dynamics of these fields is inner one.

At present study, thermal performance of a double tube heat exchanger due to stream air/water two phase flow through inner is experimentally studied. Air and hot water were mixed in T-junction outside then followed into exchanger. Told rate was kept constant equal 2 lit/min. For rate, four different rates 3, 4, 5 6 lit/min considered. Also inlet temperature cold streams almost within range 17–1...

We propose a new transient model which naturally extends the sinusoidal model to nonstationary phenomena. An integrated online-offline segmentation approach is developed, followed by an explicitly time-variant sinusoidal model.

Recently, nanomechanical devices composed of a long stationary inner carbon nanotube and a shorter, slowly rotating outer tube have been fabricated. In this paper, we study the possibility of using such devices as nanoscale transducers of motion into electricity. When the outer tube is chiral, we show that such devices act like quantum Archimedes screws, which utilize mechanical energy to pump ...
