We study thorn forking and rosiness in the context of continuous logic. We prove that the Urysohn sphere is rosy (with respect to finitary imaginaries), providing the first example of an essentially continuous unstable theory with a nice notion of independence. In the process, we show that a real rosy theory which has weak elimination of finitary imaginaries is rosy with respect to finitary ima...

In this paper, we present SWORD – a SAT like solver that facilitates word level information. The main idea behind SWORD is based on the following observation: Current SAT solvers perform very well on instances with a large number of logic operations. But when more complex functions like arithmetic units are considered, the performance degrades with increasing data-path width. In contrast, pure ...

We extend the Ruby on Rails framework towards a more complete Semantic Web application framework. The SWORD plugin provides developers with a set of tools and libraries for managing Semantic Web data and rapid Semantic Web Application development. We describe the functionality of the SWORD plugin and demonstrate its use for rapid development of a social networking application.

The red sword bean (Canavalia gladiata) is an underutilized edible bean cultivated in China. It was previously found to have the highest content of antioxidant polyphenols among 42 edible beans, mainly gallic acid, and gallotannins in its red bean coat, an apparently unique characteristic among edible beans. In this study, the main phenolic compounds in red sword bean coats were further separat...

Sexual selection can increase morphological diversity within and among species. Little is known regarding how interspecific variation produced through sexual selection affects other functional systems. Here, we examine how morphological diversity resulting from sexual selection impacts aerobic locomotor performance. Using Xiphophorus (swordtail fish) and their close relatives (N = 19 species), ...

BACKGROUND Organic diisocyanates are a common cause of occupational asthma, particularly in motor vehicle repair (MVR) workers. The UK Health & Safety Laboratory provides screening for urinary hexamethylenediamine (UHDA), a biomarker of exposure to 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). The UK Surveillance of Work-related and Occupational Respiratory Disease scheme (SWORD) has collected reports ...
