In this communication, the synthesis and characterization of thermo- and light responsive block copolymers is reported. PEO-b-PNIPAM polymers with azobenzene moieties were prepared and analyzed by turbidimetry, fluorescence, NMR and DLS measurements. A temperature controlled reversible formation as well as a light induced disruption and reformation of micellar structures in water was found.

A simple and universal route to functional cyclic polyesters has been demonstrated, combining two consecutive click reactions of azide-alkyne cycloaddition of linear hetero-bifunctional precursors and thiol-ene coupling for post cyclization functionalizations. Functional cationic and thermo-responsive cyclic polyphosphoesters have been synthesized to demonstrate the efficiency of the procedures.

We describe a polymer-based artificial tadpole-like micromotor, which is fabricated through the electrospinning technique. By incorporating functional materials onto its surface or within its body, the resulting tadpole-like micromotor can not only move autonomously in an aqueous solution with a flexible tail, but also exhibit thermo- and magnetic responsive properties.
