This paper presents an improved linearity variable-gain amplifier (VGA) in 0.18-µm CMOS technology. The linearity improvement is resulted from employing a new combinational technique, which utilizes third-order-intermodulation (IM3) cancellation mechanism using second-order-intermodulation (IM2) injection, and intermodulation distortion (IMD) sinking techniques. The proposed VGA gain cell co...
In this paper is presented a novel constant transconductance CMOS differential amplifier. The circuit uses a modified CMOS inverter to process polarisation currents of the complementary differential amplifier in order to maintain constant transconductance over the entire common-mode input voltage range. Simulation shows error less than ±6.12 % for a single supply voltage of 1.5 V. Key-Words: lo...
This work presents the quadrature sinusoidal oscillator using two Voltage Differencing-Differential Input Buffered Amplifiers (VD-DIBAs), resistors, and capacitors. The VD-DIBA is an electronically controllable active building block with high input low output impedances that can connect to other circuits directly without buffers. With these distinguished features, employed in this design. propo...
This report describes the development of a transimpedance amplifier that takes current as input and gives voltage as output. The amplifier consists of three CMOS amplifier stages in a fed-back configuration, achieving a transimpedance gain over 3 kΩ and a 3-dB bandwidth greater than 2.8 GHz. The amplifier operates with a 1.5 V supply voltage and a power budget of 30 mW.
This article presents a simple current-mode quadrature oscillator using a single Current Differencing Transconductance Amplifier (CDTA) as the active element. The oscillation condition and oscillation frequency can be electronically controlled. The circuit structure is very simple, consisting of merely one CDTA, one resistor and two capacitors. The proposed circuit is suitable for IC architectu...
This paper presents a design of the transimpedance amplifier using 0.35μm CMOS technology. In the proposed transimpedance amplifier, feedback resistor RF of conventional transimpedance amplifier has been replaced by NMOS transistor as an active feedback resistor. This circuit operates at 3.3V power supply voltage and for a photocurrent of 0.5μA.The proposed transimpedance amplifier having low n...
The Class-E power amplifier is widely used due to its high efficiency, resulting from switching at zero voltage and zero slope of the switch voltage. In this paper, we extend general analytical solutions for the Class-E power amplifier to the ideal single-ended Variable-Voltage Class-E (Class-Evv) power amplifier that switches at zero slope but not necessarily at zero voltage. The theory is ver...
Large bit-line capacitance is one of the main bottlenecks to the performance of on-chip caches. New sense amplifier techniques need to explicitly address this challenge. This paper describes two sensing techniques to overcome this problem: a current sense amplifier (CSA) and a charge transfer sense amplifier (CTSA) and their implementation based on 90nm CMOS technology. The current sense amplif...
A single-stage 24 GHz triple stacked power amplifier using 0.13 μm CMOS process is demonstrated. To Compare with parallel current combining method, series voltage combining method using a stacked amplifier architecture can realize a large output voltage swing from the top transistor without exceeding the transistor breakdown voltage limitations. However, at high frequencies, parasitic capacitan...
