This paper extends the results of synaptically generated wave propagation through a network of connected excitatory neurons to a continuous model, defined by a Fredholm Volterra integro-differential equation (FVIDE), which includes memory effects of the past in the propagation. Stochastic approximation and numerical simulations are discussed. 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Received 17 September 2011; revised 10 November 2011; accepted 17 November 2011. ———————————————————————————————Abstract In this paper, the fuzzy solution of non-linear fuzzy Volterra integro-differential equation (NFIDE) is approximated. To do this, we define a sequence of fuzzy functions which approximate the fuzzy solution of this type of equations and finally, we estimate upper bound of the...

This paper deals with the stability of Runge–Kutta methods for a class of stiff systems of nonlinear Volterra delay-integro-differential equations. Two classes of methods are considered: Runge–Kutta methods extended with a compound quadrature rule, and Runge– Kutta methods extended with a Pouzet type quadrature technique. Global and asymptotic stability criteria for both types of methods are de...

This paper presents meshfree method for solving systems of linear Volterra integro-differential equations with initial conditions. This approach is based on collocation method using Sinc basis functions. It's well-known that the Sinc approximate solution converges exponentially to the exact solution. Some numerical results are included to show the validity of this method.

In this work, an algorithm for finding numerical solutions of linear fractional delay-integro-differential equations (LFDIDEs) variable-order (VO) is introduced. The operational matrices are used as discretization technique based on shifted Chebyshev polynomials (SCPs) the first kind with spectral collocation method. proposed VO-LFDIDEs have multiterms integer, fractional-order derivatives dela...

We consider the system of Volterra integro-dynamic equations x(t) = A(t)x(t) + ∫ t t0 B(t, s)x(s)∆s and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the uniform stability of the zero solution employing the resolvent equation coupled with the variation of parameters formula. The resolvent equation that we use for the study of stability will have to be developed since it is unknown for time sca...

the purpose of this study is to present an approximate numerical method for solving high order linear fredholm-volterra integro-differential equations in terms of rational chebyshev functions under the mixed conditions. the method is based on the approximation by the truncated rational chebyshev series. finally, the effectiveness of the method is illustrated in several numerical examples. the p...

Here a posteriori error estimate for the numerical solution of nonlinear Voltena- Hammerstein equations is given. We present an error upper bound for nonlinear Voltena-Hammastein integral equations, in which the form of nonlinearity is algebraic and develop a posteriori error estimate for the recently proposed method of Brunner for these problems (the implicitly linear collocation method)...

In this work, we conduct a comparative study among the combine Laplace transform and modied Adomian decomposition method (LMADM) and two traditional methods for an analytic and approximate treatment of special type of nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations of the second kind. The nonlinear part of integro-differential is approximated by Adomian polynomials, and the equation is reduce...

In this ‎article‎‎, ‎an ‎ap‎plied matrix method, which is based on Bernouli Polynomials, has been presented to find approximate solutions of ‎high order ‎Volterra ‎integro-differential‎ equations. Through utilizing this approach, the proposed equations reduce to a system of algebric equations with unknown Bernouli coefficients. A number of numerical ‎illustrations‎ have been ‎solved‎ to ‎assert...
