We calculate the exact values of the quasinormal frequencies for an electromagnetic field and a gravitational perturbation moving in D-dimensional de Sitter spacetime (D ≥ 4). We also study the quasinormal modes of a real massive scalar field and we compare our results with those of other references.
Femtosecond laser has been proposed as a method for conditioning zirconia surfaces to boost bond strength. However, metallic or ceramic bracket bonding to femtosecond laser-treated zirconia surfaces has not been tested. This study compared the effects of four conditioning techniques, including femtosecond laser irradiation, on shear bond strength (SBS) of metallic and ceramic brackets to zircon...
We have studied scalar perturbations as well as fermion perturbations in pure de Sitter space-times. For scalar perturbations we have shown that well-defined quasinormal modes in d-dimensions can exist provided that the mass of scalar field m > d−1 2l . The quasinormal modes of fermion perturbations in three and four dimensional cases have also been investigated. We found that different from ot...
The O’Nan-Scott theorem weakly classifies the maximal subgroups of the symmetric group S, providing some information about the lattice Λ of subgroups of S. We wish to obtain more information about Λ. We proceed by determining the intersection H of suitable pairs of maximal subgroups of S and the sublattice of overgroups of H in S.
In this paper, we prove the p-nilpotency of a finite group with assumption that some subgroups of Sylow subgroup are weakly s-semipermutable subgroups in the normalizer of Sylow subgroups. Our results unify and generalize some earlier results. Mathematics Subject Classification: 20D10, 20D15
The striatal microcircuitry consists of a vast majority of projection neurons, the medium spiny neurons (MSNs), and a small yet diverse population of interneurons. To understand how activity is orchestrated within the striatum, it is essential to unravel the functional connectivity between the different neuronal types. Fast-spiking (FS) interneurons provide feedforward inhibition to both direct...
Symmetry-breaking phase transitions are an example of non-equilibrium processes that require real-time treatment, a major challenge in strongly coupled systems without long-lived quasiparticles. Holographic duality provides such an approach by mapping strongly coupled field theories in D dimensions into weakly coupled quantum gravity in D+1 anti-de Sitter spacetime. Here we use holographic dual...
Vibrational sum-frequency generation (vSFG) measurements in the frequency and time domains reveal that the interfacial hydrogen bonded OH stretch at the water/calcium fluoride interface is composed of two populations oriented oppositely. The time-resolved vSFG free-induction decay suggested that, whereas the strongly hydrogen bonded OH vibrational stretches, centered near 3140 ± 11 cm-1, are or...
introduction: the purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate three common gutta-percha solvents’ effectiveness in dissolving three different types of root canal sealers. materials and methods: the solubility of three different root canal sealers (ah plus, apexit plus and endoflas fs) was assessed in xylene, refined orange oil, tetrachloroethylene and distilled water (control). one-hundred t...
In this paper we investigate a property of the algebras of complexes (or power algebras or globals) which is a natural generalization of the notion of having all subgroups to be quasinormal in group theory. We say that an algebra A has the complex algebras of subalgebras if the set of all non-empty subuniverses of this algebra forms a subuniverse of the algebra of complexes of A. For example, a...
