The idea of Fixation introduced a direct method for general recovery of shape and motion from images without using either feature correspondence or optical flow [1,2]. There are some parameters which have important effects on the performance of fixation method. However, the theory of fixation does not say anything about the autonomous and correct choice of those parameters. This paper presents ...

In this paper which is a summary of our talk, we stress a systems approach for research in active vision. We also argue that design and analysis of seeing agents should be accompanied by experiments, requiring implementations, i.e. a constructive approach. In particular, we discuss two issues that we have worked with: use and integration of multiple cues and attention.

Purpose: Comparing the effects of manipulating senses on relative phase transition bimanual coordination pattern of active and inactive women with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Methods: The methodology of this study was repeated-measures design. Study participants comprised 10 active women and 10 inactive women with multiple sclerosis who voluntarily participated in this experiment. The participant...

The detection of plants based on a machine vision system is one of the most important parts of plants simulation. The calibration of the machine vision system is a basic step for nondestructive detection. We discuss common methods such as traditional calibration techniques, active vision based calibration techniques, and self-calibration techniques. The results show that it is feasible to apply...

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...
