This work demonstrates the first example of the immobilisation of MAO-N whole cells to produce a biocatalyst that remained suitable for repetitive use after 11 months of storage and stable up to 15 months after immobilisation. The production ofEscherichia coli expressing recombinant MAON was scaled up to bioreactors under regulated, previously optimised conditions (10 % DO, pH 7), and the amoun...

BACKGROUND Biocatalyst improvement through molecular and recombinant means should be complemented with efficient process design to facilitate process feasibility and improve process economics. This study focused on understanding the bioprocess limitations to identify factors that impact the expression of the terminal hydroxylase CYP153A6 and also influence the biocatalytic transformation of n-o...

BACKGROUND The bacterium Acetobacter sp. CCTCC M209061 is a promising whole-cell biocatalyst with exclusive anti-Prelog stereoselectivity for the reduction of prochiral ketones that can be used to make valuable chiral alcohols such as (R)-4-(trimethylsilyl)-3-butyn-2-ol. Although it has promising catalytic properties, its stability and reusability are relatively poor compared to other biocataly...

The vanadium-dependent chloroperoxidase from Curvularia inaequalis is a stable and efficient biocatalyst for the hydroxyhalogenation of a broad range of alkenes into halohydrins. Up to 1 200 000 TON with 69 s-1 TOF were observed for the biocatalyst. A bienzymatic cascade to yield epoxides as reaction products is presented.

The microbial fuel cell (MFC) is an ecologically friendly alternative energy source. Due to the typically limited electron transfer in MFC systems, co-biocatalysts are necessary enhance their performance. Enzymes used as due superior ability generate energy, and system known enzymatic (EMFC). One of substrates that may be bagasse waste extracted from sugarcane. Saccharomyces cerevisiae enzyme ...
