in-vitro labeling of rbc with 99mtc is an intricate procedure and there is always a need foran alternate blood pool imaging agent. the aim of this study was to prepare an effective nanosized liposome (nls) similar to human rbc for blood pool scintigraphy. this study formulatespeg-nls and non-peg-nls using film method plus high pressure homogenization technique.biodistribution studies were perfo...

Game theory describes social behaviors in humans and other biological organisms. By far, the most powerful tool available to game theorists is the concept of a Nash Equilibrium (NE), which is motivated by perfect rationality. NE specifies a strategy for everyone, such that no one would benefit by deviating unilaterally from his/her strategy. Another powerful tool available to game theorists are...

We consider the continuous-time random walk of a particle in a two-dimensional self-affine quenched random potential of Hurst exponent H>0 . The corresponding master equation is studied via the strong disorder renormalization procedure introduced in Monthus and Garel [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 41, 255002 (2008)]. We present numerical results on the statistics of the equilibrium time t(eq) over t...

The aim of this work is to propose a method to establish trust at bootload level in cloud computing environment. This work proposes a game theoretic based approach for achieving trust at bootload level of both resources and users perception. Nash equilibrium (NE) enhances the trust evaluation of the first-time users and providers. It also restricts the service providers and the users to violate...

The pool adjacent violators (PAV) algorithm is an efficient technique for the class of isotonic regression problems with complete ordering. The algorithm yields a stepwise isotonic estimate which approximates the function and assigns maximum likelihood to the data. However, if one has reasons to believe that the data were generated by a continuous function, a smoother estimate may provide a bet...

A study was carried out to determine the accuracy of multiple-gated blood-pool imaging in diagnosing left ventricular aneurysm. Fifteen patients with an aneurysm and 17 with left ventricular hypokinesia were studied by contrast ventriculography and multiple-gated blood-pool imaging. The results of blood-pool imaging were examined blind by five independent observers, the results of contrast vent...

What is punctuated equilibrium [or ‘equilibria’ as termed by one of us (N.E.)]? What is macroevolution? These are questions central to evolutionary biology. Yet, recently in an article in Trends Ecol. Evol. by Pennell et al. [1] the former is mischaracterized and the latter is not even defined. Here, we rectify these oversights by providing a definition of macroevolution, an accurate rendition ...

No proper statistical test is available for the evaluation of deviation of a single homozygous genotype from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) proportion. We propose a 1-d.f. chi2-test. The power of the proposed test is favorable compared to existing HWE testing procedures. The applications of this test are discussed.

Blood pressure was measured in 730 infants and their mothers within 5 days of birth. Paternal blood pressures were obtained where possible, and follow-up measurements were made on participants at 1 week and 1, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months. Infant blood pressures were adjusted for such variables as age, observer, cuff size, and sleep/activity status. Infant blood pressure correlated with maternal bl...
