During the study of plant specimens in the Central herbarium Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Institute of the gene pool of plants and animals (TASH) one new record for the flora of Uzbekistan (Cousinia waldheimiana) was identified. This species is the fourth member of Cousinia sect. Jurineopsis collected in the Uzbek part of the Northern Alay range.

بررسی نمونه‌های هرباریومی جنس Cousinia از بخش Acanthotoma در هرباریوم مؤسسه ذخایر ژنتیکی گیاهان و جانوران، آکادمی علوم جمهوری ازبکستان ( TASH) منجر به افزایش گونه‌های جنس Cousinia در فلور ازبکستان گردید. همچنین رویشگاه‌های جدید برای این گونه از هیسار، آلای و و سلسله جبال نوراتا در بخش مربوط به کشور ازبکستان شناسایی گردید و نقشه‌های پراکندگی و شرح گونه‌ه از مناطق فوق ارایه می گردد.

گونه انحصاری cousinia karkasensis به عنوان گونه ای جدید از مرکز ایران به دنیای علم معرفی می گردد. این گونه متعلق به بخش haussknechtianae می باشد. در این مقاله ارتباط گونه جدید با دیگر گونه های بخش haussknechtianae مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. مطالعات مولکولی نشان داده که گونه جدید به c. raphiocephala نزدیک می باشد.
