A fast method for separation, preconcentration and determination of cadmium in drinking (source, well, tap) and water for irrigation is described. Iron(III) hexamethylenedithiocarbamate, Fe(HMDTC)3, has the role of colloid precipitate flotation collector. The determination of cadmium in final water solutions preconcentrated by flotation can be performed by flame (FAAS) or electrothermal atomic ...

A simple and sensitive method is described for the determination of trace lead in Chinese herbs by derivative atom trapping flame atomic absorption spectrometry (D-AT-FAAS) with a modified water-cooled quartz atom-trapping tube. The effects that influence the sensitivity of the derivative method, such as the trap position, the flame conditions and the collection time, were studied. The characte...

Due to importance of wheat as the most popular food, in this data article, we determined the accumulation of heavy metal levels including Cd, Co, and Cu in wheat grains in Dashtestan county, Iran. The concentration levels of heavy metals in wheat grains cultured were determined by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS).

Microwave-assisted acid decomposition and oil-in-water emulsification were evaluated as sample pretreatment procedures to determine Al, Ba, Mo, Si and V in lubricating oils by high-resolution continuum source flame atomic absorption spectrometry (HR-CS FAAS). Average recoveries of Al, Ba and V in oil digests (107, 103 and 101%) were close to those obtained for emulsions prepared in kerosene med...

In the present paper, a separation/preconcentration procedure is presented for the solid phase extraction of Pb and Cd from environmental samples on a natural adsorbent (ram horn powder, RHP), prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The procedure is based on the adsorption of the bivalent ions of these metals as their 1-nitroso-2-naphthol-3,6-disulphonic aci...

The cloud-point methodology was successfully employed for the preconcentration of heavy metal cations at trace levels from aqueous samples prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Cations were taken into a complex with 8-quinolinol in an aqueous non-ionic surfactant, Triton X-114, medium and concentrated in the surfactant rich phase by bringing the solution to the cloud-point tempe...

In this article, we used Sargassum hystrix algae as biosorbent for removal of Fe (II) from aqueous solutions that was collected along the Persian Gulf coastline, Bushehr, Iran. The concentration level of remaining Fe (II) in the samples was measured by using flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS, Varian AA240, Australia). The isotherms, kinetics and modeling data of Fe (II) biosorption ont...

The analytical performance of non-chromatographic coupled hydride generation, integrated atom trap (HG–IAT) atomizer flame absorption spectrometry (FAAS) systems were evaluated for the determination of total mercury in environmental samples. Mercury, using formation of mercury vapors were atomized in air-acetylene flame-heated IAT. A new design of vapor generation integrated atom trap flame ato...

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of copper and silver in the plants on the mining area and the ingredients of essential oils. Plants collected from the same family, but they were collected randomly from various regions. The concentration of heavy metal in plant samples collected from Veshnave, Qom, Iran have been determined by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS). The...
