the drying behavior of green peas is investigated in a pilot scaled fluidized bed dryer (fbd) with inert particles assisted by an infra red (ir) heat source. the variation of shrinkage and moisture diffusivity with temperature and moisture content were investigated. the experimental drying curves were adjusted to the diffusion model of fick’s law for spherical particles. the result was that, al...

drying of green peas in a fluidized bed dryer (fbd) with inert particle, heated by combined sources of hot air and infrared (ir) radiation, has been experimentally and theoretically studied. for this purpose, an experimental set up was constructed. this setup was composed of a cylindrical bed dryer containing some inert particles which are fluidized by hot air. some infrared lamps were also pla...

We construct a stochastic process whose drift is a function of the process’s local time at a reflecting barrier. The process arose as a model of the interactions of a Brownian particle and an inert particle in [7]. We construct and give asymptotic results for two different arrangements of inert particles and Brownian particles, and construct the analogous process in R.

Studies in the field of environmental epidemiology indicate that for the adverse effect of inhaled particles not only particle mass is crucial but also particle size is. Ultrafine particles with diameters below 100 nm are of special interest since these particles have high surface area to mass ratio and have properties which differ from those of larger particles. In this paper, particle size di...

The neutral component of an inert scalar multiplet with hypercharge can provide a stable dark matter particle when its real and imaginary parts have a splitting mass spectrum. Otherwise, a tree-level dark matter-nucleon scattering mediated by the Z bo-son will be much above the experimental limit. In this paper we focus on a mixed inert scalar triplet dark matter scenario where a complex scalar...

Maternal immune responses can promote allergy development in offspring, as shown in a model of increased susceptibility to asthma in babies of ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized and -challenged mother mice. We investigated whether inflammatory responses to air pollution particles (diesel exhaust particles, DEP) or control "inert" titanium dioxide (TiO(2)) particles are enhanced during pregnancy and whe...

Two-particle annihilation reaction, A+A → inert, for immobile reactants on the Bethe lattice is solved exactly for the initially random distribution. The process reaches an absorbing state in which no nearest-neighbor reactants are left. The approach of the concentration to the limiting value is exponential. The solution reproduces the known one-dimensional result which is further extended to t...
