Lumbosacral Transitional Vertebrae (LSTV) is the rare medical term used to describe congenital or acquired of lumbosacral vertebral junction abnormalities associated with without pain at lower back (Almeida, et al. [1]).
Background & Aimlimitations and problems for the patients and community. Measurements of the curvature of the lumbar spineare useful in the investigations of low back pain. It is unclear whether the degree of lumbosacral angulation isthe same for all normal adults. Therefore, regarding considerable prevalence of back pain in Iranian population, this study was performed to measure lumbosacral an...
background lumbar plexus block (lpb) is one of the anesthetic options in the elderly patients undergoing hip surgeries. lpb could be safe because it targets somatic nerve in psoas region. effectiveness of lpb is attributed to the sufficient analgesia provided intraoperatively as well as postoperatively. adequate muscle relaxation and immobility during surgery refers to its acceptability. object...
[Purpose] This study investigated how types of lumbosacral orthoses applied to patients with chronic lumbar pain affect postural control and low back pain. [Subjects and Methods] Ten subjects were randomly selected and allocated to each a group wearing soft lumbosacral orthoses and a group wearing rigid lumbosacral orthoses. They wore the lumbosacral orthoses for 4 weeks. Pain index and postura...
Lumbosacral degenerative disc disease is a common cause of lower back and leg pain. Conventional T1-weighted imaging (T1WI) and T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) scans are commonly used to image spinal cord degeneration. However, these modalities are unable to image the entire lumbosacral spinal nerve roots. Thus, in the present study, we assessed the potential of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) for qu...
The lumbosacral area is one of the most frequently operated spine regions because of the prevalence of disease in that area. Although a lumbosacral soft tissue defect after surgery due to inflammation and other causes is rare, such soft tissue defects are difficult to treat. Therefore, suitable methods for treating lumbosacral soft tissue defects are necessary. Therefore, this study introduces ...
conclusions although spinopelvic fracture dislocation injuries are severe high-energy entities, in cases with traumatic spondylolytic spondylolisthesis due to widening of the vertebral canal, neurologic deficit may not be seen at all. case presentation we described a 16-year-old girl with extremely severe axial trauma to the lumbosacral spine who presented with fracture dislocation of the lumbo...
background: prevalence of electrophysiological abnormalities in patients with lumbosacral radiculopathy was evaluated. methods: a cross-sectional study was performed on 97 consecutive patients with the clinical diagnosis of lumbosacral radiculopathy. complete neurological examinations and standard electrophysiological evaluation was performed on the patients. results: patients under study had t...
OBJECTIVE To investigate the role of lumbosacral radiculography using 3-dimentional (3D) magnetic resonance (MR) rendering for diagnostic information of symptomatic extraforaminal stenosis in lumbosacral transitional vertebra. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study population consisted of 18 patients with symptomatic (n = 10) and asymptomatic extraforaminal stenosis (n = 8) in lumbosacral transition...
CASE SUMMARY Lumbosacral agenesis is a rare congenital condition reported in children. We report a 17-week-old female domestic shorthair cat with lumbosacral agenesis on whole-body radiographs. The cat was euthanized shortly thereafter presentation. A necropsy was not permitted. RELEVANCE AND NOVEL INFORMATION This is the first reported feline case of lumbosacral agenesis.
