For a (molecular) graph, the first Zagreb index M1 is equal to the sum of the squares of the degrees of the vertices, and the second Zagreb index M2 is equal to the sum of the products of the degrees of pairs of adjacent vertices. It is well known that for connected or disconnected graphs with n vertices and m edges, the inequality M2/m ≥ M1/n does not always hold. Here we show that this relati...

Zagreb indices belong to better known and better researched topological indices. We investigate here their ability to discriminate among benzenoid graphs and arrive at some quite unexpected conclusions. Along the way we establish tight (and sometimes sharp) lower and upper bounds on various classes of benzenoids.

let g be a graph. the first zagreb m1(g) of graph g is defined as: m1(g) = uv(g) deg(u)2. in this paper, we prove that each even number except 4 and 8 is a first zagreb index of a caterpillar. also, we show that the fist zagreb index cannot be an odd number. moreover, we obtain the fist zagreb index of some graph operations.

The first Zagreb index M1 is equal to the sum of the squares of the degrees of the vertices, and the second Zagreb index M2 is equal to the sum of the products of the degrees of pairs of adjacent vertices of the respective graph. In this paper we present the lower bound on M1 and M2 among all unicyclic graphs of given order, maximum degree, and cycle length, and characterize graphs for which th...

The first and second Hyper-Zagreb index of a connected graph $G$ is defined by $HM_{1}(G)=\sum_{uv \in E(G)}[d(u)+d(v)]^{2}$ $HM_{2}(G)=\sum_{uv E(G)}[d(u).d(v)]^{2}$. In this paper, the indices certain graphs are computed. Also bounds for determined. Further linear regression analysis degree based with boiling points benzenoid hydrocarbons carried out. model, on index, better than models corre...

Let k ≥ 2 be an integer, a k-decomposition (G1,G2, . . . ,Gk) of the complete graph Kn is a partition of its edge set to form k spanning subgraphs G1,G2, . . . ,Gk. In this contribution, we investigate the Nordhaus–Gaddum-type inequality of a k-decomposition of Kn for the general Zagreb index and a 2-decomposition for the Zagreb co-indices, respectively. The corresponding extremal graphs are ch...

A chemical graph can be recognized by a numerical number (topological index), algebraic polynomial or any matrix. These numbers and polynomials help to predict many physico-chemical properties of underline chemical compound. In this paper, 1Corresponding author. we compute first and second Zagreb polynomials and multiple Zagreb indices of the Line graphs of Banana tree graph, Firecracker graph ...
