OBJECTIVE To evaluate trunk muscle strength and EMG activation during isokinetic axial rotation at different angular velocities. METHOD Twenty-four healthy young men performed isokinetic axial rotation in right and left directions at 30, 60, and 120 degrees per second angular velocity. Simultaneously, surface EMG was recorded on external oblique (EO), internal oblique (IO), and latissimus dor...

in this paper, exact solution for two-plane transverse vibration analysis of axial-loaded multi-step timoshenko rotor carrying concentrated masses is presented. each attached element is considered to have both translational and rotational inertia. forward and backward frequencies and corresponding modes are obtained using transfer matrix method (tmm). the effect of the angular velocity of spin,...

In this article, turbulent flow heat transfer in the air gap between rotor and stator of a generator under nonhomogeneous heat flux is studied experimentally. The rotor consists of four symmetrical triangular grooves. The stator surface is smooth and does not include any grooves. The relative heat flux between the rotor and the stator is 1 to 3. Temperature and heat flux are measured locally at...

We present laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) measurements of Xe II (4D7/2) in the FMT2 ion engine plume. Three 605.1 nm beams from a ring dye laser are focused through a single lens into a submillimeter interrogation volume, from which we collect LIF at 529.2 nm. Fourier-transform deconvolution of the LIF spectra returns ion velocity distribution estimates along the three laser beam directions. ...

To obtain the maximum output power of a fast-axial-flow CW-CO2 laser, gas flow velocity can be optimized by using genetic algorithms. Our theoretical approach shows that the gas flow velocity after optimization increases the laser output power substantially from 500W, obtained in our present system, to 2203W.

The stretched-spiral vortex model is used to calculate the velocity-scalar cross spectrum for homogeneous, isotropic turbulence in the presence of a mean scalar gradient. The only nonzero component of the cospectrum is that contributed by the velocity component in the direction of the imposed scalar gradient while the quadrature spectrum is identically zero, in agreement with experiment. For th...

In this paper, a mathematical model is developed, taking into consideration the slip velocity at the wall of blood vessel of time-dependent Stenosis with unsteady flow through a tube in the presence of a Stenosis. Momentum integral method has been used to evaluate axial velocity and pressure gradient in time dependent Stenosis. Results have also been compared with and without the effect of slip...

In the present study, a mathematical model of unsteady blood flow through parallel plate channel under the action of an applied constant transverse magnetic field is proposed. The model is subjected to heat source. Analytical expressions are obtained by choosing the axial velocity; temperature distribution and the normal velocity of the blood depend on y and t only to convert the system of part...
