The solid-state hydrolysis and air calcination of aluminum-doped TiCl3 leads to crystalline anatase TiO2 that is stable on heating to 1000 degrees C, in contrast to control studies with related AlCl3 and TiCl3 physical mixtures that produce rutile TiO2 under the same conditions.

Growth of silicalite with graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets occurred via attachment of GO onto the silicalite surface, and entrapment of GO nanosheets inside single crystals. Electrically conductive composites were produced by calcination in nitrogen whereas silicalite crystals with slit-like mesopores of sizes 20-25 Å were obtained after GO burn-off.

Oxygen-deficient luminescent mesoporous silica nanoparticles with uniform morphology/size and integrated mesoporosity-luminescent property in a single nanoparticle are successfully synthesized by a bottom-up self-assembly route followed by a post-calcination process, and can be used to facilely load/deliver drugs into cells and luminescently image cells.

A facile in situ partial surface-oxidation strategy to integrate CoO domains with CoSe2 nanobelts on Ti mesh (denoted as CoO/CoSe2) via direct calcination of CoSe2-diethylenetriamine precursors is reported. The resulted self-supported CoO/CoSe2 exhibits an outstanding activity and stability in neutral media toward both hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen evolution reaction.

A series of Co3O4 catalysts were synthesized and derived from Co-BTC (BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid). The effects different calcination temperatures atmospheres on the catalytic activity materials investigated. characteristics investigated by using various techniques, including X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption–desorption measurements, scanning electron microscopy, photoelectron spectros...

Supported Au nanoparticles (NPs) sinter easily. Anchoring Au NPs is of fundamental interest and practical importance. We stabilized Au NPs by growing them hetero-epitaxially into the facets of ZnO nanowires. The sintering of epitaxially anchored Au NPs was significantly reduced at high calcination temperatures and during CO oxidation.

A new magnesium aluminophosphate JU92-300 with novel zeotype structure and 8-ring channels has been prepared by calcination of microporous JU-92 under 300 °C. Well dispersed C-dots are prepared by using JU92-300 as a support host. Such C-dots@zeolite materials exhibit excitation-dependent photoluminescent behavior, as well as tunable fluorescence with high quantum yields.

Efficient visible light-induced photoelectrochemical oxidation of water was achieved using a tungsten(iv) oxide (WO(3)) film composed of perpendicularly oriented plate-like crystallites, a flake-wall film, prepared on a transparent conductive substrate by controlling anisotropic crystal growth of tungsten oxide hydrate (WO(3).H(2)O) followed by calcination.

Detemplation of zeolite beta has been successfully achieved at low temperature by controlled oxidation of the template using H2O2 and catalyzed by traces of Fe3+. With this approach, unlike calcination, the pristine structure of the material is well preserved; no extra-framework aluminium is formed.

The current research was focused on synthesizing potassium sodium niobate (KNN) piezoelectric ceramics for the system (K0.48Na0.52) NbO3   by high energy ball milling process for 15h at the speed of 300 rpm.  The blended nano-crystalline powder was calcined in conventional box furnace at 700oC, 800oC and 900oC for duration of 5h, 7h and 10h.  Diffraction result of calcine powder confirmed the f...
