In this paper, we define X-slant helix in Euclidean 3-space and we obtain helix, slant helix, clad and g-clad helix as special case of the X-slant helix. Then we study Darboux, tangential darboux developable surfaces and their singular points. Especially we show that the striction lines of these surfaces are singular locus of the surfaces.

BACKGROUND Chronic Lung Allograft Dysfunction (CLAD) is the main limitation to long-term survival after lung transplantation. Although CLAD is usually not responsive to treatment, earlier identification may improve treatment prospects. METHODS In a nested case control study, 1-year post transplant surveillance bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid samples were obtained from incipient CLAD (n = 9...

Friction stir processing (FSP) was used as a cladding method for the fabrication of a AA2024 clad layer on a AA1050 sheet. Crossover multi pass FSP with 50% overlap was considered as the cladding method. Effects of the number of FSP passes and post heat treatment on the microstructure and properties of clad layers were evaluated. Microstructural evolutions during the FSP and heat treatment were...

Chronic liver allograft dysfunction (CLAD) remains the most common cause of patient morbidity and allograft loss in liver transplant patients. However, the pathogenesis of CLAD has not been completely elucidated. By establishing rat CLAD models, in this study, we identified the informative CLAD-associated genes using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) proteomics anal...

PurposeSurvival after lung transplantation (LTx) still remains limited by chronic allograft dysfunction (CLAD). Prior studies showed an association between graft cellular expression of the checkpoint HLA-G and acceptance, whereas conversely, soluble (sHLA-G) in plasma/BAL was associated with acute rejection. We investigated whether plasma levels extra-vesicular (EVs)-bound could predict CLAD.Me...

This experiment exposed a sample of U.S. undergraduates (43 men, 40 women) to suggestively or conservatively clad virtual females who exhibited either responsive, high eye gaze or nonresponsive, low gaze in an immersive virtual environment. Outside the virtual world, men and women who encountered a highly stereotypical character—a suggestively clad, high gaze agent (“vamp”) or conservatively cl...

Friction Surfacing Cladding (FSC) is a relatively new solid state process to deposit thin metallic clad layers on substrates. It employs a hollow rotating tool that supplies the clad material. Frictional and viscous heating take place that soften the clad material and enhance the bonding of the clad material to the substrate. Thin layers of commercially pure aluminium can be deposited well on a...

OBJECTIVE To help facilitate economic evaluations of oncology treatments, we mapped responses on cancer-specific instrument to generic preference-based measures. METHODS Cancer patients (n = 367) completed one cancer-specific instrument, the FACT-G, and two preference-based measures, the EQ-5D and SF-6D. Responses were randomly divided to form development (n = 184) and cross-validation (n = 1...

Double-clad photonic crystal fiber and double-clad fiber have been widely used in multiphoton-excited fluorescence or second-harmonic generation (SHG) endoscopy. We provide a useful comparison of two fibers used in nonlinear optical microendoscopy. While a double-clad fiber is found to have a higher percentage of the output power from its core, which results in the efficient utilization of the ...

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) was recently introduced as an overarching term covering different phenotypes of chronic allograft dysfunction, including obstructive CLAD (bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome), restrictive CLAD (restrictive allograft syndrome) and graft dysfunction due to causes not related to chronic rejection. In the present review, we will highlight t...
