We comment on two issues in quantum cosmology, in the context of the Wheeler–De Witt equation and wave function of the Universe: (i) arrow of time and interpretation of the wave function in the classically allowed regions; (ii) stability of an approximation of the Born–Oppenheimer type in classically forbidden regions of the scale factor.

N,N,N,N-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) can be synthesized by simple reduction of 1,3,6,8-tetraazatricyclo-[4.4.1.1.(3,8)]dodecane (TATD), an aminal cage type amine, with formic acid. The aminal can be converted to TMEDA in high yield very easily and in a very short time. We comment on the scope and limitations of the reduction of this aminal and propose a possible reaction mechanism.

We describe two algorithms for finding representatives of the nilpotent orbits of a θ-group. The algorithms have been implemented in the computer algebra system GAP (inside the package SLA). We comment on their performance, and we apply the algorithms to obtain lists of N-regular automorphisms of simple Lie algebras of exceptional type.

I briefly discuss the role of neutrinos as probes in astroparticle physics and review the status of neutrino oscillation parameters as of June 2006, including recent fluxes, and latest SNO, K2K and MINOS results. I comment on the origin of neutrino masses in seesaw-type and low-scale models and mention some of their experimental signals.

We show that some very naturally occurring energymanifolds that are induced by second-order Lagrangians L = L(u, u′, u′′) are not, in general, of contact type in (R4, ω). We also comment on the more general question whether there exist any contact forms on these energy manifolds for which the associated Reeb vector field coincides with the Hamiltonian vector field.

Forces related to A-B phases between fluxons with Φ = αΦ 0 α = integer are discussed. We find a α 2 ln(r) type interaction screened on a scale λ s. The forces exist only when the fluxons are actually immersed in the region with non vanishing charge density and are periodic in α. We briefly comment on the problem of observing such forces.

We consider the possibility of observing CP violation in quasi-inclusive decays of the type B does not contain strange quarks. We present estimates of rates and asymmetries for these decays in the Standard Model and comment on the experimental feasibility of observing CP violation in these decays at future B factories. We find the rate asymmetries can be quite sizeable.
