The title compound, C(6)H(10)N(2)O, is a zwitterionic pyrazole derivative. The crystal packing is predominantly governed by a three-center iminium-amine N(+)-H⋯O(-)⋯H-N inter-action, leading to an undulating sheet-like structure lying parallel to (100).

We have investigated the spin-wave spectrum of copper metaborate, CuB 2 O 4 , by means of inelastic neutron scattering in the commensurate magnetic phase. Glutaraldehyde causes especially high autofluorescence. It reacted with proteins and peptides to generate visible to near-IR emitters. A model indicated that ethylenediamine and a secondary amine in the molecule were key components for the formation of emissive species. The mechanism enables us to control the generation and elimination of autofluorescence.
