This paper discusses the collaborative beamforming problem using improved directional perturbation approach based on one bit feedback scheme. There are multiple transmitters and one receiver in our setup, all the transmitters send a common signal synchronously, the receiver return a one bit of feedback to the transmitters. Each transmitter uses only the one bit feedback and local information to...

The immense development rate of wireless technologies has also brought new requirements for the RF design of transmitters. The design challenge is to optimize multiband devices with minimal dimensions and weight as well as an appealing appearance, which nevertheless operate well within varyingly complex environments such as frequently changing positions within the closest vicinity of the human ...

Accelerated lifetime test has been carried out for 147 days on the custom-made optical transmitters used in the ATLAS Liquid Argon Calorimeter front-end electronics readout system. The lifetime of these optical transmitters is estimated to be greater than 200 years and exceeds the design goal for the LHC. The random failure rate has been estimated at 9.6×10 per hour at 90% confidence level.

The effects of external and surgically implanted radio transmitters on juvenile masu salmon Oncorhynchus masou were examined. External attachment of transmitters significantly decreased the survival of fish and caused a decreased critical swimming speed compared with surgical implantation. Although plasma cortisol, plasma glucose and haematocrit values did not differ significantly among groups,...

Due to imperfections in transmitters' hardware, wireless signals can be used verify their identity an authorization system. While deep learning was proposed for transmitter identification, existing work has mainly focused on classification among a closed set of transmitters. Malicious transmitters outside this will misclassified, jeopardizing the In article, we formulate problem recognizing aut...

State-of-the-art automotive radar sensors use a Mutliple-Input Mutiple-Output (MIMO) approach to obtain better angular resolution. Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) scheme is commonly applied realize the orthogonality in time at transmitter. Apart from its simplicity implementation, TDM has drawback of reduced maximum unambiguous Doppler proportional number transmitters. In this paper, phase dif...

As mobile and wearable technology has evolved, an increasing need for indoor positioning has arisen. In particular, the use of ultrasonics provides a cheap way to fulfil this need. However, current ultrasonic location systems have to be calibrated manually by providing information about the exact positions of the transmitters used. Where systems are to be deployed over a large number of rooms i...

Long-term records of nesting numbers, or proxies to nesting numbers, show a precipitous decline in the size of many sea turtle populations. Population declines are most frequently attributed to fisheries bycatch, although direct quantification of this level of mortality is rare. We used satellite-tracking records for turtles in the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans to id...

This paper discusses a simple stochastic model for the spread of messages in a large population with two types of individuals: transmitters and receivers. Transmitters, after receiving the message, start spreading copies of the message to their neighbors. Receivers may receive the message, but will never spread it further. We derive approximations of the broadcast time and the first passage tim...

An achievable rate region R , G I( X, ; Y 1 X,, U), R 2 G 1(X2; YIX,, U), RI + R2 G 4x1, X2; Y), where P(U, xl, XZ, Y) = p(u)p(x,~u)p(x~~u)p(ylxl,x~), is established for the multiple-access channel with feedback. Time sharing of these achievable rates yields the rate region of this paper. This region generally exceeds the achievable rate region without feedback and exceeds the rate point found ...
