An ordinary differential equation with a parameter in the boundary conditions describes the steady state in an adiabatic tubular chemical reactor. In this paper, the problem is considered as a Hammerstein integral equation and solutions are obtained using Adomian’s decomposition method.

We consider the problem to decompose a binary matrix into a small number of binary matrices whose 1-entries form a rectangle. We show that the linear relaxation of this problem has an optimal integral solution corresponding to a well known geometric result on the decomposition of rectilinear polygons. MSC: 90C27, 90C46

The Faddeev equations for the three-body bound state are solved directly as three-dimensional integral equations without employing partial wave decomposition. Two-body forces of the Mal iet-Tjon type and simple spin independent genuine three-body forces are considered for the calculation of the three-body binding energy.

We give the Jordan form and the Singular Value Decomposition for an integral operator N with a non-symmetric kernel N(y, z). This is used to give solutions of Fredholm equations for non-symmetric kernels, and to determine the behaviour of N n and (NN ∗)n for large n.

In this paper, we complete the classification of those finite 3groups G whose integral group rings have the multiplicative Jordan decomposition property. If G is abelian, then it is clear that Z[G] satisfies MJD. In the nonabelian case, we show that Z[G] satisfies MJD if and only if G is one of the two nonabelian groups of order 33 = 27.

me usefulness and capabilities of photoelectrochemical processing of III-V semiconductors is presented. Examples include the etching of small period gratings, the formation of integral lenses, the decomposition of small bandgap semiconductors, the etching of ptype semiconductors, and the photoinitiated deposition of metal. The transport of carriers in the semiconductor and reactivity of the sur...

The sparse-matrix-flat-surface iterative approach has been implemented for perfectly conducting surfaces and modified to enhance convergence stability and speed for very rough surfaces. Monte Carlo simulations of backscattering enhancement using a beam decomposition technique are compared with millimeter-wave laboratory experimental data. Strong but finite conductivity for metals or thin skin d...

We obtain second integral moments of automorphic L–functions on adele groups GL2 over arbitrary number fields, by a spectral decomposition using the structure and representation theory of adele groups GL1 and GL2. This requires complete reformulation of the notion of Poincaré series, replacing the collection of classical Poincaré series over GL2(Q) or GL2(Q(i)) with a single, coherent, global o...

The norm of an integral operator occurring in the partial wave decomposition of an operator B introduced by Brown and Ravenhall in a model for relativistic one-electron atoms is determined. The result implies that B is non-negative and has no eigenvalue at 0 when the nuclear charge does not exceed a speciied critical value.

The Möbius function is utilised to propose a class of multi-channel, multi-sampling rate theorems. Our construction facilitates a parallel decomposition of the Fourier transform into an array of general integral transform operators. A practical example is discussed which employs a complex square wave biorthonormal basis.
