Recurrent dislocation is not common in small joints. This report presents a recurrent dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the ring finger in a 23-years-old man. Recurrent dislocation was addressed successfully by repairing the avulsed volar plate to the base of the middle phalanx, followed by 6 weeks of splint immobilization.

We present a case of vascular injury resulting from occult dislocation of the elbow joint. At last review 46 cases of brachial artery injury with concomitant dislocation have been reported (10), all in small series and case reports. In all the dislocation was clinically or radiologically evident.

Bilateral traumatic hip dislocation is a very rare condition. Simultaneous anterior and posterior traumatic dislocation of both hips is even more unusual. A case report of a bilateral asymmetrical hip joint dislocation with bilateral acetabular fracture in a 28-year-old man is presented.

Most carpal dislocations occur in the lunate bone or around it (perilunate). An isolated dislocation of the carpal scaphoid is a rare injury. We report a case of a palmar scaphoid dislocation combined with a dorsal perilunate dislocation, which was treated with open reduction, fixed with two Kirschner wires and ligament repair, with a good result.

Medial subtalar dislocation is a rare dislocation and is not commonly seen as a sport injury. The authors report the case of a young athlete (footballer) who presented a medial subtalar dislocation. The treatment was orthopaedic with a very good functional result.

Traumatic dislocation of the testis is a rare event in which the full extent of the dislocation is present immediately following the initial trauma. We present a case in which the testicular dislocation progressed over a period of four days following the initial scrotal trauma.

However, the structure of dislocation dipole in the hexagonal networks is still an open question at the atomic-level. Simultaneous dislocation of the radial head and distal radio-ulnar joint is rare. We report a 71-year-old man with volar dislocation of the radial head and dorsal dislocation of the distal radio-ulnar joint, and discuss the injury mechanism and its management with closed reduction.

Traumatic anterior dislocation of the hip is rare. Bilateral traumatic anterior dislocation is an even rarer injury; indeed, only 5 cases have been reported in the English literature. We describe a case of a bilateral traumatic anterior dislocation of the hip and a concomitant unstable lumbar burst fracture following a mechanism of injury distinctly different from other reports.

In this paper we study the connection between four models describing dislocation dynamics: a generalized 2D FrenkelKontorova model at the atomic level, the Peierls-Nabarro model, the discrete dislocation dynamics and a macroscopic model with dislocation densities.
