Evolutionary Art is the application of artificial evolution to the creation of artworks. Most evolutoinary art implementations share one characteristic: being locked into a fixed, highly distinguishable 'style' (the 'signature problem'). While the cause is readily identified as the representation used, the reason lies deeper: since selection is performed by (slow) humans, systems have to perfor...

When there are many people who don't need to expect something more than the benefits to take, we will suggest you to have willing to reach all benefits. Be sure and surely do to take this the art of artificial evolution a handbook on evolutionary art and music natural computing series that gives the best reasons to read. When you really need to get the reason why, this the art of artificial evo...

We present quantitative models for the selection pressure on cellular evolutionary algorithms structured as a ring of cells. We obtain results for synchronous and asynchronous cell update policies. Theoretical results are in agreement with experimental values and show that the selection intensity can be controlled by using different update methods.

A widely accepted approach in supporting the development of new software is user participation. Many different techniques have been suggested that cover analysis and prototyping. However, software development in general includes changing and extending software that is already in use. In addition, the further development of existing prototypes and pilot systems is the basis for evolutionary soft...

This paper explores the use of growth processes, or embryogenies, to map genotypes to phenotypes within evolutionary systems. Following a summary of the significant features of embryogenies, the three main types of embryogenies in Evolutionary Computation are then identified and explained: external, explicit and implicit. An experimental comparison between these three different embryogenies and...

The lack of a social context is a drawback in current Interactive Evolutionary Computation systems. In application areas where cultural characteristics are particularly important, such as visual arts and music, this problem becomes more pressing. To address this issue, we analyze variants of the traditional Interactive Evolutionary Art approach – such as multi-user, parallel and partially inter...

In this paper we describe how we have developed an application that is capable of evolving melodies with some human help to guide it. We have developed this system using evolutionary algorithms and interactive evolution. The user can use the application to, first, evolve short blocks of notes, and second, to combine these blocks into longer melodies using more evolutionary techniques. The resul...

according to this fact that wind is now a part of global energy portfolio and due to unreliable and discontinuous production of wind energy; prediction of wind power value is proposed as a main necessity. in recent years, various methods have been proposed for wind power prediction. in this paper the prediction structure involves feature selection and use of artificial neural network (ann). in ...
