The temporal stability and diversity of bacterial species composition as well as the antilisterial potential of two different, complex, and undefined microbial consortia from red-smear soft cheeses were investigated. Samples were collected twice, at 6-month intervals, from each of two food producers, and a total of 400 bacterial isolates were identified by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscop...

Halomonas strain GFAJ-1 was reported in Science magazine to be a remarkable microbe for which there was "arsenate in macromolecules that normally contain phosphate, most notably nucleic acids." The draft genome of the bacterium was determined (NCBI accession numbers AHBC01000001 through AHBC01000103). It appears to be a typical gamma proteobacterium.

The structure of a new phosphoglycolipid from the halophilic Gram-negative bacteria Halomonas elongata ATCC 33173(T), Halomonas eurihalina ATCC 49336(T), Halomonas almeriensis CECT 7050(T), strain Sharm (AM238662), Halomonas halophila DSM 4770(T), and Halomonas salina ATCC 49509(T) was elucidated by NMR and mass spectroscopy studies. In all of the species examined, the polar lipid composition c...

New bacteria that was provided from contaminated soils surrounding the coal, aluminum, salt mines and wetland separated, synthesized and characterized. The achievements show that this soils and waters have five disposed bacteria consist of Microbacterium SP, Micrococcaceae Bacterium, Planomicrobium SP, Brevndimonas Aurantiaca and Halomonas SP. Secondly, the result of the potential of remova...
