We study a Kloosterman sum for GL4 and prove that it is equal to an exponential sum over a quadratic number field. This identity has applications in a relative trace formula for GL4 which might be used to give a new proof of quadratic base change and characterize its image.

This paper discusses problem areas in P3P 1.0 and proposes possible solutions, focusing on longer term changes, which could form part of P3P 2.0. Key issues discussed are Compact Policies, APPEL, Consent Mechanisms, The Base Data Schema, P3P in Enterprise environments and P3P in Identity Management Systems. SUGGESTIONS FOR LONG TERM CHANGES TO P3P 1

This paper presents a framework for using analogical reasoning and generation to automate the process of designing forms and reports. We begin by separating successful cases into different regions, and then storing them in a knowledge base that allows future retrieval based on identity and similarity. The target can be obtained through a three-layered structure matching and analogical reasoning...

Smart environments are sensor equipped areas that know about their environment thus being able to adapt to the user. We present sHOME, a multiagent based platform for integrating situated, individualized, and personalized information. sHOME acquires sensor data to determine the user’s identity, his location, his gesture, and natural language commands and stores it in a central knowledge base.

Recombination of distantly related and nonrelated genes is difficult using traditional PCR-based techniques, and truncation-based methods result in a large proportion of nonviable sequences due to frame shifts, deletions, and insertions. This unit describes a method for creating libraries of chimeras through combinatorial assembly of gene fragments. It allows the experimenter to recombine genes...

The entire genomes of two isogenic morphovars (vgh16W and vgh16R) of Burkholderia pseudomallei were sequenced. A comparison of the sequences from both strains indicates that they show 99.99% identity, are composed of 22 tandem repeated sequences with <100 bp of indels, and have 199 single-base variants.

Alladi and Gordon introduced the method of weighted words in 1993 to prove a refinement and generalisation of Schur’s partition identity. Together with Andrews, they later used it to refine Capparelli’s and Göllnitz’ identities too. In this paper, we present a new variant of this method, which can be used to study more complicated partition identities, and apply it to prove refinements and gene...

The reduplication in Kor. sālsal and sălɨlɨ ‘gently’ presents interesting phonological problems in 1) what should be the underlying base, *sal or salɨ? and 2) how the length alternation should be explained. In this paper I first present a serial analysis in which these examples are explained as cases of overand under-application, and then examine how it compares with a similar analysis in recen...

Although North American and European serotypes of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) are recognized, only the genome of the European Lelystad strain (LV) has been sequenced completely. Here, the genome of the pathogenic North American PRRSV isolate 16244B has been sequenced and compared with LV. The genomic organization of 16244B was the same as LV but with only 63.4% n...

place is a part of geographical space and a base for establishment of social relations. each place is unique according to its specific properties, functions and history. meanwhile, some places find symbol identity due to their especial historical events and properties and this identity would be maintained in the minds and moved to the other generations. for example azadi tower in tehran and sav...
