The contribution of migration to population changes in Botswana is analyzed. Consideration is given to international migration, internal migration, rural-urban migration, and the socioeconomic characteristics of migrants. The data are primarily for the years 1980-1981 and are from the 1981 census.
The volume of an internal migration is affected by the gaps pull and push factors between places origin destination. However, proportion due to family reasons could be large, which less factors. This paper studies non-family-reason (NFIM) shows that population has different characteristics from other migrants.
