background: although upper-extremity disability correlates with psychosocial aspects of illness the association with sleep disturbance in upper extremity disability is less certain. to evaluate whether sleep disturbance is associated with upper-extremity disability among patients with upper extremity illness, accounting for sociodemographic, condition-related, and psychosocial factors. methods:...

This paper deals with control of (max,+)-linear systems when a disturbance acts on system state. In a first part we synthesize the greatest control which allows to match the disturbance action. Then, we look for an output feedback which makes the disturbance matching. Formally, this problem is very close to the disturbance decoupling problem for continuous linear systems.

Abstract We propose TrendSegment, a methodology for detecting multiple change-points corresponding to linear trend changes in one dimensional data. A core ingredient of TrendSegment is new Tail-Greedy Unbalanced Wavelet transform: conditionally orthonormal, bottom-up transformation the data through an adaptively constructed unbalanced wavelet basis, which results sparse representation Due its n...

Reflecting a global trend, freshwater wetlands in Madagascar have received little conservation or research attention. Madagascar is a global conservation priority due to its high level of species endemism but most work has focused on protecting forests. For the first time, we investigated the state of wetlands across the country to determine the effects of human disturbance. We conducted a rapi...

An exact condition for uniform stabilization and disturbance attenuation for switched linear systems is given in the discrete-time domain via the union of an increasing family of linear matrix inequality conditions. Associated with each Markovian jump linear system is a switched linear system, so we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for almost sure uniform stabilization and disturbanc...

In this paper we consider disturbance decoupling problems for switched linear systems. We will provide necessary and sufficient conditions for three different versions of disturbance decoupling, which differ based on which signals are considered to be the disturbance. In the first version the continuous exogenous input is considered as the disturbance, in the second the switching signal and in ...

In this paper, three disturbance compensation algorithms are experimentally evaluated considering the control problem of a rodless pneumatic cylinder. Despite its highly nonlinear dynamics, the pneumatic cylinder is modeled as a linear system including an unknown lumped disturbance. Three disturbance estimation algorithms are then employed to compensate for this lumped disturbance: the traditio...

|A robust servo-system, based on a combination of linear robust control and sliding mode control have been proposed. This new control system can be said to be a non-linear system (sliding mode control system) which has a inner loop of linear control (two-degree-of-freedom control). Due to this inner loop of linear control, a disturbance is strongly suppressed but not completely. Then, the outer...
