A substantial number of clinical trials using antiangiogenic therapies are ongoing worldwide. How to achieve the maximum benefit from these therapies and how to monitor patient response are of paramount concern to investigators. There are currently no markers of the net angiogenic activity of a tumor available to aid investigators in the design of antiangiogenic treatment schemes. It stands to ...

A molecular marker is a valuable tool in genetic research. Insertions–deletions (InDels) are commonly used polymorphisms gene mapping, analysing diversity, marker-assisted breeding, and phylogenetics. The 3000 Rice Genome Project, re-sequencing project, discovered millions of genome-wide InDels. We found that the proportion >50-bp long InDels (699,475) total (1,248,503) 56.02%. number on eac...

Background: Various therapeutic options such as calcitonin have been suggested for patients with low bone density, despite uncertain efficacy in most patients. C-telopeptide of type I collagen (CTX) is a new bone marker used for the assessment of bone resorption. The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effects of nasal spray calcitonin in women with osteopenia via serum CTX and ot...

septicemia in neonates is the commonest cause of mortality. early recognition and diagnosis of neonatal sepsis remains a challenge because of the variable and nonspecific clinical presentation. the laboratory criteria are often non specific and not fully reliable. the objective of this review is to highlight the various hematological and biological markers of neonatal sepsis. we searched pubmed...

Individuals of the Western honeybee species, Apis mellifera, live in large groups thousands worker bees, a queen, and few drones. Workers interact frequently with related individuals while performing various tasks. Although it is well understood why under which conditions sociality can evolve, consequences for living permanent are less understood. As solitary species become stressed when kept a...

We consider the problem of locating instances of a known object in a novel scene by matching the fiducial features of the object. Our approach to the problem consists of two parts: a model for the appearance of the features and a model for the shape of the object. We then bind these parts together in a Bayesian framework and match the features sequentially, using the information about the locat...

We describe a new method for 2D fiducial tracking. We use region adjacency information together with angles between regions to encode IDs inside fiducials, whereas previous research by Kaltenbrunner and Bencina utilize region adjacency tree. Our method supports a wide ID range and is fast enough to accommodate real-time video. It is also very robust against false positive detection.

Humans focus attention on different face regions when recognizing face attributes. Most existing face attribute classification methods use the whole image as input. Moreover, some of these methods rely on fiducial landmarks to provide defined face parts. In this paper, we propose a cascade network that simultaneously learns to localize face regions specific to attributes and performs attribute ...
