An innovative strategy for post-synthesis nitrogen-doping of mesoporous carbons (MCs) with high yields (>90%) at low temperatures (230-380 °C) by using a strong base, sodium amide (NaNH2), was developed. The as-prepared N-doped MCs exhibit a significantly enhanced CO2 adsorption performance in terms of capacity and selectivity when compared to their parent MCs.

Pavlovian conditioning processes may contribute to some symptoms of multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). This review summarizes the potential relevance of the literature on conditional taste and olfactory aversions, conditional sensitization, and conditional immunomodulation to understanding MCS. A conditioning-based perspective on MCS suggests novel research and treatment strategies.

We study the problem of minimal triangulation of graphs. One of the first algorithms to solve this problem is Lex M, which was presented in 1976. A new algorithm, and a simplification of Lex M, called MCS-M was presented in 2002. In this paper we compare these two algorithms and show that they produce the same set of chordal graphs, answering an open question mentioned by the authors of MCS-M.

Mast cells (MCs) are sentinels for pathogens. They are situated in the skin and mucosae where pathogen encounter is common and surround blood vessels. MCs pre-store vasoactive mediators and cytokines in granules, such as histamine, heparin, proteases, and TNF [1]. Degranulation occurs virtually instantaneously after MC activation by certain pathogen-derived or endogenous products signifying inf...

Human mast cells (MCs) are long-lived tissue-resident immune Background: cells characterised by granules containing the proteases chymase and/or tryptase. Their phenotype is modulated by their tissue microenvironment. The human uterus has an outer muscular layer (the myometrium) surrounding the endometrium, both of which play an important role in supporting a pregnancy. The endometrium is a sex...

The antigen defined by MCS-2 monoclonal antibody (mAb) was characterized by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of surface and internally labeled cells. Surface iodination revealed that MCS-2 antigen on the surfaces of acute myelogenous leukemia cells, HL-60 cells, and polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) had the same molecular weight (Mr 150,000) and that their autoradiogra...

Mast cells (MCs) are long-living multifunctional innate immune cells that originate from hematopoietic precursors and specifically differentiate in the destination tissue, e.g., skin, respiratory mucosa, intestine, where they mediate immune cell recruitment and antimicrobial defense. In vivo these tissues have characteristic physiological oxygen levels that are considerably lower than the atmos...
