We introduce a new stochastic process called the generalised Wishart process (GWP). It is a collection of positive semi-definite random matrices indexed by any arbitrary input variable. We use this process as a prior over dynamic (e.g. time varying) covariance matrices Σ(t). The GWP captures a diverse class of covariance dynamics, naturally handles missing data, scales nicely with dimension, ha...

Dealing with incomplete information is an important problem in decision making. In this paper, we present a short discussion on this topic and a new estimation method of missing values in an incomplete fuzzy preference relation which is based on the modelling of consistency of preferences via a representable uninorm.

Sequential pattern and rule mining have been the focus of much research, however predicting missing sets of elements within a sequence remains a challenge. Recent work in survey design suggests that if these missing elements can be inferred with a higher degree of certainty, it could greatly reduce the time burden on survey participants. To address this problem and the more general problem of m...

We carry out an ANOVA analysis to compare multiple treatment effects for longitudinal studies with missing values. The treatment effects are modeled semiparametrically via a partially linear regression which is flexible in quantifying the time effects of treatments. The empirical likelihood is employed to formulate nonparametric ANOVA tests for treatment effects with respect to covariates and t...

The expected value of missing data in a sample taken from a multivariate normal probability distribution is the mean of the conditional distribution of the missing dimensions given the known dimensions. We explain the derivation of this result, demonstrate its application to face image processing, then use it in a new method for recovering shape from image data. The context of our work is the u...

Many algorithms have been proposed for predicting missing edges in networks, but they do not usually take account of which edges are missing. We focus on networks which have missing edges of the form that is likely to occur in real networks, and compare algorithms that find these missing edges. We also investigate the effect of this kind of missing data on community detection algorithms.

Resum In the frame of the research project undertaken in the site of La Draga, an Early Neolithic (ca. 5,300-4,800 cal BC) pile-dwelling settlement located at the North Eastern of the Iberian Peninsula, we are developing a serious game that recreates the life of a Neolithic community with the purpose of dissemination, entertainment and learning. The videogame has tried to provide the most relia...
