Introduction: Colloid goitre is a common, benign lesion in the thyroid gland, involving diffuse or nodular pattern. It clinical entity characterised by subsequent growth, structural functional transformation of one more areas within normal tissue. A nodule can grow to be visible, which becomes cosmetic concern for patient.

Knowledge of the inverted "T" incision--used in plastic, oncologic and orthopedic surgery--has allowed its adaptation for the diagnostic assessment and therapeutical approach of acral, nodular lesions. The authors describe the use of this technique for the surgical approach of a patient with a plantar nodular lesion, further diagnosed as a calcified angioleiomyoma.

A case report of an unusual case of nodular fasciitis in the orbit presenting with unilateral proptosis is described, and the radiological features are outlined. The histological features are discussed and the benign nature of the lesion stressed. Nodular fasciitis arising in the orbit and presenting as unilateral proptosis has not previously been reported in the literature.
