In this paper, at first for a given set of real or complex numbers $sigma$ with nonnegative summation, we introduce some special conditions that with them there is no nonnegative tridiagonal matrix in which $sigma$ is its spectrum. A method for the computation of iterative bounds for the positive eigenvector of a nonnegative irreducible matrix is presented. It is based on the P-boundedness of the corresponding fixed point operator. Admissible initial bounds can be obtained by conditional preiteration.
